19th February 2018, Hyderabad: GITAM HBS has signed a letter of collaboration with Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST). Dr. Y.Lakshman Kumar, Dean & Director, GITAM HBS and Sri Vellore Suresh, Chairman – Strategic Committee, BYST, Hyderabad Cluster signed and exchanged the Letter of Collaboration at a Mentor-Mentee get-together organized at Mechanical Engineering Auditorium, Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) was established in 1992 as a not-for-profit organization with a mission to render assistance to disadvantaged youth to set up or expand their own businesses. BYST fosters a nation-wide mentoring movement through business volunteering to become role model for “Youth Entrepreneurship Development through Mentoring” both in India and several other developing countries.
The collaboration with GITAM HBS implies i) involving and engaging faculties, students and resource persons of GITAM HBS in supporting entrepreneurs identified and supported by BYST, ii) conducting market research, business plan preparation, financial projections, marketing and strategic development, iii) providing infrastructure to conduct BYST chapter meetings, counseling and entrepreneurship training programs and convene mentor-mentee meetings, iv) providing opportunities to the students on campus to ventilate their creative ideas and convert them in to business propositions to which BYST extends support, v) GITAM HBS members participating in BYST Strategic committee meetings, vi) organizing series of programs, events of different kind of and business idea contests to promote entrepreneurship and startup culture among youth in Telangana.
Along with the mentors and mentees of BYST, Mr. Prabodh Parikh, General Manager, State Bank of India, Mr. M.V.Sudheer Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME, Mrs. V. Balaji, Vice-Chairperson, Strategic Committee, BYST, Prof Krishnamohan, GITAM HBS and the Team BYST, Hyderabad were present on the occasion.
