Hyderabad, July 21, 2018: “Dream anything. But to realize them, you need planning and timelines”, said Ms. Rehana D’Souza, Head – NSE Academy Ltd. She was addressing the UG students and their parents today as the Guest of Honor at the Inaugural of UG Programs 2018-21 at GITAM Hyderabad Business School, a constituent of GITAM (Deemed to be University), Hyderabad Campus. She advised the students to take care of the planet while they pursue their careers with passion.
On this occasion, Ms. D’Souza presented the “Tree Award” to the Dean & Director of GITAM HBS, Prof. Y. Lakshman Kumar, on behalf of NSE Academy. At the undergraduate level, GITAM HBS is offering BBA (Financial Markets) in collaboration with NSE Academy, BBA with CIMA, B.Com. (Hons) with ACCA, BBA (Business Analytics), as well as the traditional BBA.
In his address, Shri M. Kartik Rao, Associate Vice President, Start Cap Corporate Advisors LLP recounted his experience of success after qualifying with CIMA that enhanced his business acumen. Shri Kishan Sathyam, Zonal Head – South India, CIMA, explained how an international qualification like CIMA in Management Accounting along with BBA would make them market ready. Shri Rahul Puri, Head – Employer Relations for India at ACCA briefly narrated the history of one of the oldest international professional bodies of the world, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and shared information on how a professional qualification in Accountancy would earn them respect, opportunities, and rewards across the world. Shri Pavan, Business Relationships Manager, AP & TS for ACCA India, explained the opportunities awaiting ACCA professionals.
Earlier, Prof. Y. Lakshman Kumar, Dean & Director, GITAM HBS, welcomed the newly admitted students and their parents and guardians. In his address, he explained how the programs at GITAM HBS are uniquely futuristic and ensure the students’ career prospects. Advising the students to be disciplined and to make diligent use of the resources, he requested the parents to keep in touch with the institute. He also introduced the staff and faculty at GITAM HBS to the audience.
Prof. N. Siva Prasad, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GITAM Hyderabad, in his message, said that the students of management should develop business acumen to anticipate market needs and address those needs. He advised the parents to keep an eye on their wards for the first year or two so that the students learn a sense of responsibility as adults by then. Prof. Sreeram, Director, Student Affairs, explained various avenues available on the campus for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Sri D.V.V.S.R. Varma, Resident Director, advised the students to learn how to work in a team and to develop leadership skills.
Students of II Year UG programs, Gaurav, Akshay, Satyanarayana, Sadia, Manish, and Haseeb recounted the exciting life at GITAM HBS in their first year. Students, parents, faculty, heads of institutes and departments at GITAM Hyderabad participated in the program.
