ICFAI Tech School conducts National Conference on
Recent Advances in Electronics
ICFAI Tech School of the ICFAI University, Hyderabad organized a two-day inaugural event of 2nd National Conference on Recent Advances in Electronics (NCRAE 2017) on 24th February 2017 at ICFAI University Campus, Shankarpally Road, Hyderabad.
The Chief Guest on the occasion Prof. Rajat Moona, Director General, C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing), Pune, in his address mentioned that India is moving forward as Digital India in line with the campaign launched by Government of India. He stated that India in recent years has overtaken advanced countries in the world in terms of Digital services offered primarily like e-governance, online payments, online certifications, online approvals, etc. The massive funds and efforts put in for setting up high-speed, high-ways of information technology have penetrated deep into the country by reaching remotest areas.
Prof. Rajat Moona also stated that like other developed countries, we should advance to meet the future growth of the electronic industry. IT growth started 20 years ago, and now it is time to accelerate into advanced electronics field Internet of Things (IoT). IoT is a network of everyday objects such as wearable devices, lighting systems, smart fridges, door locks, connected cars, traffic signals, industrial equipment, etc. which are connected to the internet, can communicate with each other, and collect and exchange data for a specific purpose. In essence, IoT has the potential to radically transform our lifestyles.
While appreciating the Indian talent, he quoted two ingredients that will take India to the top: IT (Indian Talent) plus IT (Information Technology) is equal to IT (India Tomorrow).
Keynote Speakers: Dr. R.K. Shevgaonkar, former Director IIT-Delhi; Dr. Mani Srinivasan, Program Director IBM Bangalore; Dr. B.G. Fernandes, IIT-Bombay; Dr. P.Sudhakar, former CMD, ECIL Hyderabad, Sr Director Xilinx Hyderabad were among the prominent speakers who participated in the conference.
Earlier, Prof. J. Mahender Reddy, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University in his presidential address explained about the aim of the conference and said “With the rapid advances in electronics and communication technologies, scientists and engineers are coming up with innovative systems for data transmission. Therefore, NCRAE 2017 is organized to create a learning platform to exchange the knowledge and learning experiences between academia and industry engaged in the study of electrical and electronics engineering.
