Currently serving in the Institute of Advanced Management and Research, Dr. Sanjeev Layek’s educational qualification include Ph.D. (Management), M.Phil (Management) and MBA in Marketing with a background of Science. Since the year 2006, he has been actively involved in teaching, research, consultancy, and projects in the field of Marketing. His further areas of specialization are Consumer Behaviour, Retail Management and Sales and Distribution Management. He has also attended many national and International level seminar/workshops. Apart from this, he has contributed articles, research papers in various leading journals. Dr. Sanjeev has competency in SPSS, SAP applications.
Dr. Sanjeev was awarded by Yenepoya University, Mangalore and Parle Sales and Services Ltd. (a division of Parle Agro Ltd.) for Panel Expert and outstanding performance. Presently, he is also working as Editor of IAMR Journal of Management and Entrepreneurship, also contributing to Institute's Ranking, Accreditation and Award process.
Dr. Sanjeev’s experience in the education sector
Learning is a never-ending process. I share my wonderful experience about education sector which is one of the most versatile sectors. I integrate my experience with academic experience. ‘Padhai, Dawai and Mithai‘s’ business never ends. As the need of the society, each parent always put their best effort to educate their wards. Our responsibility is to deliver value-based education to their wards. Government is making flexible policy for all private, public as well as foreign players to grab opportunities of teaching-learning process exists in this industry. The only issue is the quality education. Only a few institutions are offering quality education. Quality education means research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Sanjeev’s philosophy of leadership and his leadership style
Our philosophy of leadership at Institute of Advanced Management and Research is based on transformational leadership through a participative approach where faculty acts as a mentor and student as a mentee. Mentoring is the essence of our education process.
Significant challenges faced by Dr. Sanjeev as the Dean of Institute of Advanced Management and Research
Significant challenges as a Dean are the profile of students, lack of innovation and frequently changing technological factors in shaping students career. Today’s generation is basically consulted internet for studies, which is dangerous for acquiring knowledge.
Dr. Sanjeev on the importance of time management
Although there is hectic schedule in delivering value education, we have a robust time management system to deliver goods on time.
Curriculum of Institute of Advanced Management and Research
Our curriculum is designed as per industry job roles. Our KSA Model (Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude) is the main focus of the teaching-learning process. Identifying job description (JD) of various positions, integrating them with industry needs and academic needs. We develop skills of students based on industry requirements. Our faculty members and students jointly develop research articles, cases for developing their skills and enhancing knowledge.

We have strong industry linkages. Our association with top business houses and visionary Secretary Sir’s contacts help us in building industry relationship. Top MNCs like Deloitte, Google, Adobe, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI, HDFC, Mahindra Finance etc. are on our board.
Dr. Sanjeev’s relationship with the students
We have cordial and professional relations with students. We develop relations by regularly nurturing through mentoring sessions, understanding each other. We treat students as family members.

We have a respectful environment where students respect faculties and faculties respect students. We believe in developing a mentoring process where faculty member and students share their thoughts, emotions, and issues and find solutions.
Goals in mind for Institute of Advanced Management and Research for the next few years
Our goal for next three years in to develop strong processes for enhancing knowledge, skills, and attitude, developing vibrant academic process based on current and future industry needs.
Suggestions for the current youth and the aspiring students
My suggestion to the current youth is to put best efforts in developing new concepts through regular research activities to excel in research better to focus on textbook, latest articles, reputed journals and get industry exposure, equip yourself to handle industry problematic situation and provide better solutions.Last Updated - 16 Mar 2018
