Dr. Priti Ranjan Majhi is currently working as the Principal of Regional College Management. He has 14 years of administrative experience and 5 years of consultancy experience. He has worked as an Associate Dean Research and Fellow Program at RCMA, Dean-Academics in Management at KIIMS, Associate Dean Research and Fellow-Program at RCMA, Program Coordinator in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at RCMA and as Head of the Department and Head Examination –MBA, CEB and RCMA and Course Coordinator, Department –MBA & MCA, NICS and AMS. He has attended many national and international seminars. He has total 25 Research & Publication works: 25 (International – 10 & National – 15).
Dr. Majhi has published 3 books and 3 are in the press for publishing. His teaching interests lie in the areas of Quantitative Methods, Operations Research and Management, Productivity Management, Research Methodology, Financial Derivative, Investment and Financial Risk Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, TQM & Six-Sigma, Project Management and Appraisal and Soft Computing.
The significance of Education and the Education sector in the development of society as a whole
Education is the tool which helps us in removing all our doubts and fears about all the challenges and happiness in our life. It is the tool which keeps us happy and peaceful as well as helps us to socialize with human beings better. Education is not only about gaining knowledge as it also means learning the ways to be happy, learning the way to keep others happy, learning the way to live in society, learning the way to tackle challenges, learning the way to help others, learning the way to take care of older people, and learning the way how to behave with others. My dear friends, education is like a healthy food which nourishes us both internally and externally. It makes us strong internally and gives lots of confidence by developing our personality and giving us knowledge.
A good education is the only way to remove bad habits, poverty, inequality, gender discrimination and so many social issues. I love to be with students because they are the future of this flat world. This is the only industry where you can felicitate the society as well. Education helps us to explore our own thoughts and ideas and makes us capable of expressing it in a different form. So, for me, education is like a medium through which we can interact with different people and share our ideas this makes it the best industry.

A true leader is someone who earns respect through his rightful actions and mass following without any dictatorship. He inspires others to follow in his footsteps and become the guiding light for the humanity. The great leader is someone who carries the torch of wisdom and enlightens the society, thereby leading people to the path of progress and growth. Besides, the true meaning of leadership is having the requisite ability to make people want to follow you while being under no compulsion to do so. Leaders are those people who set certain benchmarks and try to achieve those benchmarks by allowing people to judge them according to their actions and endeavours. The goals are set and everyone is put towards achieving those goals but without compromising the ethics and morals. This is the true mark of a great leader.
Leaders who possess great leadership qualities effectively channelize their energy and devote themselves to the growth and progress of humanity. The restrictions or obligations that he/she imposes on himself/herself enable him/her to rise against all odds and never bow down to the circumstances. Always remember that the love of supreme excellence is found in a great leader. I believe a true leader is someone who is able to establish a connection with the almighty and realizes by faith that he/she is a mere instrument in the hands of Him and dedicates his entire life to become an inspirer and guide of the higher sentiments and ambitions of the people.
The significant challenges faced in handling the responsibilities at RCM, Bhubaneswar
Yeah, there are many challenges but I love to handle anything which is coming in my way while serving the students. You see if you won’t love your exertion you won’t be able to be a perfectionist. If you won’t be able to be a perfectionist in this industry then you can’t be loved by your students because they are always looking for an inspiration in you. Whatever might be the challenge, we need to develop our physical and mental strength in order to face challenges. We also have to make the right decisions in our lives. For example, selecting a stream for the A/L examination is a challenge for most students. So, they let their teachers, parents or friends choose the subjects for them.
We should not be weak enough to let others make decisions on our behalf
By making proper decisions, working according to a plan, taking responsibility and speaking up for oneself, one can overcome challenges and win over the world. Let us face challenges and make ourselves successful individuals. “Shoot for the moon. Even if you fail, you’ll land among the stars.”

Maintaining a relationship with the students being the Principal of the college
I am always available to them. I use to interact with students whenever I get time. They can come to my office anytime and ask their queries, which they do. You know, sometimes I take small doubt clearing classes in my office as well because if they will carry doubts they won’t be able to taste success. I have given my personal contact number to students so that they can contact me anytime and can ask help and suggestions for decision-making. I have even opened a cell where students can drop their suggestions regarding college’s areas for improvement. Students are connected with me via social media as well.

Creativity is what separates competence from excellence. Creativity is the spark that propels projects forward and that captures peoples' attention. Creativity is the ingredient that pulls the different pieces together into a cohesive whole, adding zest and appeal in the process.
The context and structure we work within always have a set of parameters, limitations and guidelines. A stellar manager knows how to work within the structure, not letting the structure impinge upon the process or the project and knowing the structure intimately, so as to guide others to effectively work within the given parameters. Do this to expand beyond the boundaries.
Intuition is the capacity of knowing without the use of rational processes; it's the cornerstone of emotional intelligence. People with keen insight are often able to sense what others are feeling and thinking; consequently, they're able to respond perfectly to another through their deeper understanding. The stronger one's intuition is, the stronger manager one will be.
A thorough knowledge base is essential. The knowledge base must be so ingrained and integrated into their being that they become transparent, focusing on the employee and what s/he needs to learn, versus focusing on the knowledge base. The excellent manager lives from a knowledge base, without having to draw attention to it.
A manager is committed to the success of the project and of all team members. S/he holds the vision for the collective team and moves the team closer to the end result. It's the manager's commitment that pulls the team forward during trying times.
6. Being Human
Employees value leaders who are human and who don't hide behind their authority. The best leaders are those who aren't afraid to be themselves. Managers who respect and connect with others on a human level inspire great loyalty.
Flexibility and versatility are valuable qualities in a manager. Beneath the flexibility and versatility is an ability to be both non-reactive and non-attached to how things have to be. Versatility implies an openness - this openness allows the leader to quickly change on a dime when necessary. Flexibility and versatility are the pathways to speedy responsiveness.
A stellar manager doesn't just produce outstanding results; s/he has fun in the process! Lightness doesn't impede results but rather, helps to move the team forward. Lightness complements the seriousness of the task at hand as well as the resolve of the team, therefore, contributing to strong team results and retention.
Discipline is the ability to choose and live from what one pays attention to. Discipline as self-mastery can be exhilarating! Role model the ability to live from your intention consistently and you'll role model an important leadership quality.
