Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) is set to hold its annual fest ‘Xpressoions’ from November 8 – 10, 2019. The three-day extravaganza is one of the biggest Management-Cultural fests of eastern India and the students are all geared up to make this a utopian event.

Hosting a gamut of events that serve as a whetstone of creativity, Xpressions 2019 aims to provide an ideal platform for business school students across the nation to prove their mettle in their area of expertise-be it performing arts or business intellect. It offers its guest one of a kind experience, by concocting a heady cocktail of the most innovative business simulation games and the most fascinating cultural events, as a refreshing change from their hectic everyday schedules.

With only a few days to go, here are the events that are scheduled to make Xpressions eventful and memorable. The business events include, the flagship event, Jack of All Trades (a National-Level Case Study and Simulation Game competition), Maven (a National-Level Case Study Competition, organized by Constrat: the strategy association), Inquizzitive (a Flagship Quizzing Competition), MPower (A Marketing based  Business event by Maxim), Case Connect (a National-Level Case Study Competition),  and many more.

Last year Xpressions witnessed the scintillating performance by Sunidhi Chauhan, which was much awaited by not just the XIMB fraternity but the whole of Bhubaneswar. It was a starry night, adding yet another feather to the cap of all the previous glorious Xpressions. To astound everyone again, this year XIMB promises a two-fold entertainment package. The institute waits to host Kumar Varun, to tickle the funny bones of the audience in the stand-up comedy act in Comedy Adda, and Mika Singh for the live performance on Celeblitz, the Celebrity Night. In addition to that for the rock factor, XIMB also welcomes Underground Authority along with Sunburn Live for its EDM night. Just a few more days left for the grand event to enthrall the city of Bhubaneswar.

Further, he talked about how brands are moving towards online marketing as it not only provides better engagement with the customers but also better return on investment.

The second speaker, Mr. Shekhawat started by explaining the concepts of Strategic Marketing and Data-Driven Marketing. He talked about how brands are specifically targeting their ‘ideal buyer’ rather than selecting a broad market. He further gave insights about various successful marketing campaigns like GoPro’s ‘Photo of the Day’, IBM’s ‘Call for Code’.

The next speaker, Mr. Jhaveri started by drawing an analogy between Bob Dylan’s song ‘The time they are a-changin’ and marketers who need to keep up with change otherwise they will be left behind. Mr. Mishra was the final speaker of the day. He spoke about the rising issues of misinformation on social media. He told that although social media is becoming the preferred medium of communication, traditional mediums cannot be ruled out as they are still known for their authentic content.
