Knowledge Institute of Technology organizes National level Technical Symposium

Mechanical Engineering Department Association of Knowledge Institute of Technology, FLAME (Fruition Lore Association of Mechanical Engineering) conducted a one day National Level Technical Symposium – “MECHRONINS’2K20” recently. The Chief Guest of the function, Mr. Mohandas Krishnaswamy, Plant Head HR & IR, Hindustan Motor Finance Corporation Limited, addressed the importance of goal setting, software skills, communication skills, and interdisciplinary skills. He also instilled the art of decision making and career-building into the minds of the budding engineers.
The inaugural function was presided over by Dr.PSS.Srinivasan, Principal of the institution. He addressed about Industry 4.0 and asked the budding engineers to develop interdisciplinary skills required by the industries. Dr.K.Visagavel, Vice-Principal & HOD of Mechanical Engineering, Dr.P.Rajendran, Director-Placement, Prof.M.Sathyanathan, Department Incharge (Mechanical Engineering), all HODs, Prof.R.Venkatraman, FLAME Coordinator, all faculty members and students of Mechanical Engineering took part in the symposium and made it a splendiferous day.
More than 300 students from 32 different colleges across southern states participated in various events such as Paper Presentation, Project Presentation, CAD Modeling, Technical Quiz, AD-ZAP & Logo, Engine Assembly, Mr. Mechanist, Dirt Bike, ROBO Racing, and Drone challenge. A workshop on “3D Printing and Reverse Engineering” was also conducted on the occasion. It was a heyday with a grandeur arrangement made by Mechanical Engineering students.
In the valedictory function, Dr.K.Visagavel distributed the certificates to winners and participants of the symposium. The participants from other institutions appreciated the efforts of Mechanical Engineering students for organizing the symposium in a well-disciplined, structured, and organized manner.
KIOT Signs MoU and Inaugurates Aspire System of Excellence Laboratory

Knowledge Institute of Technology, Salem has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aspire Systems, a Chennai based IT company, to train the students on emerging technologies and to offer placements. The Chief Guest of the function Mr.J.N.V.Sunil, Executive Vice President, Aspire systems inaugurated the Aspire Systems Center of Excellence (CoE) Laboratory at KIOT campus and addressed the students about the emerging technologies and skills required by the industry. The event was presided over by President of Knowledge Institute of Technology Trust Mr.R.Kumaraswamy. Under this MoU, every year 50 students of KIOT will be selected for training on emerging technologies by the Aspire team, and they will be offered placements. Over the past six years, Aspire has employed over 40 students of KIOT with a salary package of more than 3 lakhs per annum.
Mr. T.K.Dineshkumar, Vice President of Human Resources Development at Aspire Management, and Ms. Jayalakshmi Ethiraj, Training Manager, emphasized the need for learning new technologies. Dr. PSS Srinivasan, Principal, Knowledge Institute of Technology, outlined KIOT's placement highlights and new initiatives taken for improving the students’ skill enhancement. The ceremony was attended by students, Professors, and HoDs. The Aspire team visited all the research laboratories, interacted with faculty and students, and appreciated the innovative projects done by the students.
