Grand Pre -Tarang Ceremony

“Tarang is not an event, it’s an emotion!”

Lady Shri Ram College for Women declared the opening of their Annual Cultural fest Tarang’17 in all its grandeur and beauty! As a part of the tradition, a Pre - Tarang ceremony was organized on the 2nd of February in the College Auditorium.

The auditorium was flooded with young and frenzied audience who cheered along the DramSoc members as they made their enthusing entry. The Tarang vibe penetrated through everyone’s heart, beating – Dhinak-dhin-dha! The event commenced with a short address by Charu Maheshwari, President of the LSR Students’ Union followed by a mesmerizing performance by the instrumentalists. The violin, santoor, piano, flute and the cajon blended to recreate the magical compositions of Yathra and Game of Thrones. Ananta, a vocalist of Indian Music Society, groped the audience’s attention tight with her melodious voice as she sung the evergreen Sufi piece Dum-a-Dum Mast Kalandar!

Dramsoc took us on a different journey of young children and violation of their rights, in their performance. The insightful monologues conveyed messages for the goodness of society and people. The Indian Music society of LSR took listeners to heights of celebrations with their beautiful Bollywood medley.Their spirit left everyone ‘tarangled’! LSR added a new fun element to its list by calling the extremely talented beatboxer Divyansh Kacholia, a DCAC student who produced endless breathtaking tunes from his own sound box. His solo performance received a huge applause from the audience. The classical dance society of LSR vibrated the floor with captivating classical beats.Lastly some of the most interesting behind the scene moments of Tarang were captured beautifully by the media team in a trailer giving us a sneak peak of the upcoming magnificent Annual festival of the College. The program concluded with motivating words by the college Principal Dr. Suman Sharma who affirmed the spirit of Tarang to all its glory followed by a vote of thanks by Shambhavi Diggy, Cultural Secretary of the College.

Come let’s feel the Tarang of love and celebrate together!
