Andhra University PhD Admission 2017 Notification


Andhra University has released its official notification regarding admission to Part-Time and Full-Time Ph.D. programs. Ph.D. degrees can be pursued in the Faculties of Law, Arts, Science, Engineering and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Eligible candidates can submit their application forms on or before July 11, 2017.

  • Andhra University application form submission process will take place in online mode only.
  • Candidate has to pay INR 1000 (INR 700 for SC/ST/PHC) for each subject.
  • Application forms can also be submitted after the last date but with the addition of late fee charges.
  • For admission to the course, candidates must appear for AURCET 2017 (Andhra University Research Common Entrance Test)
  • AURCET-2017 for each subject / department consists of one paper with multiple choice objective type questions including oral examination.

Note: Based on the number of seats available and the number of applications received, the University reserves the right to conduct or not to conduct the test.

Andhra University PhD Admission 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Full-time and Part- time Ph.D. degrees can be pursued in the Faculties of Arts, Law, Science, Engineering and Pharmaceutical Sciences by candidates possessing minimum qualifications prescribed below
Educational Qualification

  • Post-graduate degree holders with at least 55% of marks (50% in the case of SC/ST Candidates) or equivalent CGPA in the concerned subject or in an allied subject or any other PG Degree recognized by the University as equivalent.
  • Post-Graduation Degrees obtained through distance mode from Universities recognized by DEC only be recognized.
  • Applicant must be under 28 years of age. If a candidate applies to out of this way, then there is no age limit prescribed by the institute.

Andhra University PhD Admission 2017 How to Apply

Submission of application form can only be done through online mode.

  • For online form submission, eligible candidates must visit the official website i.e. or
  • Fill all the details in the application form i.e. personal information, educational qualifications and work profile.
  •  Candidate has to pay INR 1000 (INR 700for SC/ST/PHC) for each subject and for each additional program the processing fee is of INR 500 (additional).
  •  Application fee (and late fee if applicable) can be paid by opting any of the following modes of payments:
     (a) Andhra Bank (Bill desk)  (b) Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking.
  •  After filling the online application form with the required details, verify all the details carefully and press ‘Submit’ button.
  • Filled in Application Form will be generated that contains application number along with filled details.
  • Take print out of filled in ‘Online Application Form’.
  •  Use the application number for future correspondence till the admission process is completed.
  • Candidates applying for Part-Time programs must submit the printed copy of online application along with photostat copies of service certificate and No-Objection Certificate (NOC)

Andhra University PhD Admission 2017 Selection Procedure

Admission to the Full-Time and Part-Time PhD program will be done through Common Entrance test i.e. AURCET-2017, in Science, Arts, Law, Pharmacy, Engineering Basic Sciences and Humanities in Engineering. The entrance examination will be conducted by the Directorate of Admissions in Vishakhapatnam.

  • AURCET-2017 for each subject / department consists of one paper with multiple choice objective type questions including oral examination.
  •  The test contains 20 questions in Research Methodology with 20 marks, 70 questions in concerned subject with 70 marks
  •  After the written examination there is an oral examination for 10 marks will be conducted in Departments by the concerned DRC.
  •  The minimum qualifying marks in AURCET-2017 is 25 marks and no minimum marks for SC/ST/PHC category students.
