Vishakhapatnam, December  26, 2018: The festive season has brought in plenty of cheers for the Engineering students of GITAM. IT Major Cognizant has picked 29 students (BTech & MTech) with a package of 5 Lakhs per annum for the role of Cyber Security Engineer on December 24, 2018. The Drive focussed on skill sets related to IT Security, Network Protocols, learning ability and strong communication skills. The selected students will get an opportunity to work with IT Security specialists from COGNIZANT from Jan 2019 and will do cyber security certification courses which will be sponsored by the Company.

In another Drive, HCL recruited 26 candidates for a package of 4.75 Lakhs per annum for the role of Embedded Developers/ Semi-conductor based design and validation engineers. HCL Technologies is a next-generation global technology company that helps enterprises reimagine their businesses for the digital age. HCL’s technology products, services, and engineering are built on four decades of innovation, with a worldwide network of R&D, innovation labs and delivery centres. The selected students will have the opportunity of working with HCL’s Vijayawada R&D Centre, being set up afresh.

This year, the drives have been focussing on niche skill sets instead of standard engineering skill sets. Project-ready students are preferred over generic engineering graduates. The recruiters offer handsomely paid internships to the selected students to assess the potential of the candidates and earmark them for future projects. Deloitte, Invenio, Value Labs & Cognizant have offered Paid internships to the shortlisted candidates.

Microsoft, Value Labs, TCS Digital, Informatica, NCR are some of the recruiters who attracted the best talent by offering product development roles. Deloitte, Invenio and Accenture Drives provided opportunities for the students in IT consultancy. State Street Drive opened up the Finance sector. TCS Codevita selected the best coders and TCS Ninja shortlisted a large number of students through a national level test. Accenture too has picked up a sizable number from GIT. Deloitte has selected 24 students for US-Advisory and 3 students under GDAS (Design Application Studio).
