  • The exam will be conducted at specified Centers in different parts of the country.

The number of research candidates allowed under each post is as follows:

  2. Per Associate Professor: 02
  3. Per Assistant Professor: 01

VACET 2017 Eligibility

  • Candidates should be Acharya/MA (Sanskrit) or have an equivalent degree from any Deemed university or universities which are duly recognized by UGC.
  •  The candidate must obtain at least 55% marks in aggregate in the above-mentioned degree.
  • Those who wish to appear in Education should have MA Sanskrit with 55% of marks along with Shiksha Acharya (M.Ed) or equivalent PG Degree in Education with 55% of marks.
  • Minimum 50% marks in MA Sanskrit/Sanskrit related subjects for SC/ST and otherwise able categories shall also be considered as eligible. 
  • Foreign candidates who have passed Acharya/MA (Sanskrit) with 55% marks in the aggregate from any Deemed University outside India can also apply for the VACET through the foreign dept. of the Govt. of India or the MHRD.
  • Those eligible candidates who have cleared NET/JRF/Lectureship test/SLET, M.Phil. in Sanskrit/Education are exempted from appearing for VACET.

VACET 2017 Reservation

Reservation policy of Government of India shall be followed which is mentioned below and other reservations are as per rule of Govt. of India.

  1. SC-15%
  2. ST-7.5%
  3. OBC-27%)

VACET 2017 Application Process

  • Application form can be filled online within time for entrance test by following website                          
  • The application form can also be obtained offline as well by submitting a crossed Demand Draft of Rs.500/-in person in any of the following places.Candidates who wish to give Exam for Manuscript and Paleography should pay additional fee of Rs. 200.

VACET 2017 Entrance Exam

  • Exam was conducted on June 18, 2017.
  • There are two papers of one and a half hours each.
  • Both the papers are of 50 marks each

VACET 2017 Entrance Exam Centers

The allotment of the Center shall be done as per the information provided by the candidate. Once the Center is allotted, it shall not be changed and the candidate is required to appear at the allotted Center only.

VACET 2017 Selection Process

Candidate needs to secure atleast 20 marks in each exam to become eligible for the admission.

Course wise selection procedure is explained below

a) Procedure for Final Selection in Shastra Subjects:

1) Qualified in M.Phil (Sanskrit) Entrance Test.

2) Acharya/M.A. Sanskrit: 60% of marks secured.

3) Interview – 40 Marks

4) Weightage marks: JRF- 8 Marks, NET – 5 Marks, SET – 3 Marks

b) Procedure for Final Selection in Education:

1) Qualified in M.Phil (Education) Entrance Test.

2) Shiksha Acharya/Equivalent P.G Degree in Education: 60% of marks secured.

3) Interview – 40 Marks

 4) Weightage marks: JRF- 8 Marks, NET – 5 Marks, SET – 3 Marks

c) Procedure for Final Selection in Computer Science:

1) Qualified in M.Phil (Computer Science) Entrance Test.

2) M.Sc/MCA/Equivalent P.G Degree in Computer Science: 60% of marks secured.

3) Interview – 40 Marks

4) Weightage marks: JRF- 8 Marks, GATE/NET – 5 Marks, SET – 3 Marks
