With Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) conducting its annual technical festival ‘INNOSKILL 2017 on 3rd and 4th April 2017, the excitement at the campus seems to be fever pitch! This is the 4th edition of the innovation festival which is celebrated every year on the eve of Founder’s Day celebrations. The earlier three editions of the Festival were amazing, to say the least, and gave an opportunity to tech enthusiasts to showcase their talent to top-notch corporate houses. With students/faculty members from Delhi-NCR eager to give wings to their innovative talent, ‘INNOSKILL 2017’ is all set to blaze a trail with mind-blowing gizmos, robots and tech shows. Packed with a plethora of events and activities, Innoskill promises a rich bounty of prizes and accolades.
The Wow Factor at INNOSKILL 2017
Through Project Competitions, INNOSKILL 2017 will give young innovators a chance to showcase their products and share their ideas. Through SRIJAN (Project Demonstration competition for the youth), there would be a host of happening prizes to look forward to. Centred round DIGITAL BHARAT, students can pitch their projects in areas such as the Internet of Things (IOT), Environment & Healthcare, Mobility, Energy Management, Automation, Building Resilience and Technology for Rural areas. For those who are big on ideas, TECHSOL will be the competition of choice. It would be open to all, especially those aspiring students who have remarkable technology ideas or venture concepts that will be geared towards creating a better Environment. Apart from that, UNTANGLE THE MUDDLE (in which students’ Problem Solving skills will be tested) promises excitement unlimited. The best three entries would, of course, win prizes. And last but not the least, TECHNO VOGUE - FASHION SHOW would be there to raise the style quotient, as students can showcase their style with technical spice.
This is designed to expose participants in various skill-based activities for a short span of time. It would give an opportunity to acquire hands-on skills which are important in day-to-day life.
This is one segment which has a wide array of interesting options. A 2-day LAN Gaming event will witness Mini Militia, Counter Strike and FIFA games grabbing students’ interest as they get to soak in the fun and win attractive prizes.
The stage is also set for the Line Follower Robot Competition in which participants will develop an autonomous line following robot. The team with the exact path following, least time and better design would win the coveted prize. The event will involve concepts of electronics, computer science and mechanical engineering.
A simulated Sumo match is also in the pipeline with Robo Sumo in which two robots would compete in a head-to-head match. The Robots will have it fight out without weapons and they would not be allowed to flip each other. The Robo mania would further manifest itself through Robo Race where the aim of the challenge would be to make a wired or wireless controlled robot/rover that can travel through different terrains and complete the track in minimum time. Each team will be given a chance to test run their robot. Students’ competitive spirit would also be tested through a Water Rocket Challenge where students need to build a rocket powered by water or air or a combination that has a maximum time of flight. Each team must also build a rocket launcher which can launch the rocket at an angle or different angles.
INNOSKILL 2017 will provide a platform for tech enthusiasts to attend workshops in the emerging areas of Engineering. These workshops would be conducted with the help of Manav Rachna’s knowledge partners and the various Centres of Excellence with a view to connecting industry with academia. While an Automation Workshop will be conducted by Mitsubishi, a Two-Wheeler Workshop will have Honda at the forefront. Besides that, workshops on Green Energy, Cybersecurity, E-waste management, Robotics and 3D Printing promises to open up new vistas of learning.
Through Tech shows, students will be privy to Metal Laser Cutting Machine, Artificial Intelligence, 3D Printing, Advanced Infrared Technology not to mention Quantum Computing Technology enabling them to explore hitherto unexplored areas. Also on display would be Startups and other Projects by Manav Rachna Innovation & Incubation Centre.
In other words, INNOSKILL 2017 would go a long way in engendering among students cutting edge knowledge in the latest technologies preparing them as effective thought leaders for tomorrow’s world.
