Solan, May 13, 2019: A workshop on “Understanding and Practice of HPLC and GC-MS for Chemical Analysis” under the Chairmanship of Dr Neeraj Gupta was organised at Shoolini University, Himachal Pradesh. It is a 6-day workshop on new and innovative techniques in the field of Chemistry. The workshop started on May 13 and will conclude on May 18, 2019.
The aim of this workshop is to provide a hands-on training on analytical techniques like High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC-MS) to the students and faculty members as well. Prof Atul Khosla, Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University inaugurated the event.
There are nearly 150 delegates who have registered and are participating in the workshop. They are being exposed to exciting science and innovative talks about two most powerful techniques in the analytical laboratory.
Addressing the participants, Director of Research, Shoolini University, Dr. Saurabh Kulsherstha said that the workshop would be of great benefit to the scientific community. The overall goal of the training programme can lead to a multitude of careers in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, life science, food science and biotechnology, Dr. Gupta added.
On the first day, the Assistant Professor at School of Chemistry, Dr. Joydeep Das, introduced the audience to chromatographic techniques in chemical analysis. With this, a talk cum interactive session by Dr. Neeraj Gupta was conducted on importance of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) in identification of molecules
