Alliance University, Bengaluru is hosting the South Zone Vice-Chancellors’ Meet of Association of Indian Universities on December 11 and 12, 2015 at its Central Campus in Anekal, Bengaluru.
During this two day national event, Vice-Chancellors of prominent Public and Private Universities of Southern States of India shall discuss and debate on the Issues, Challenges and Roadmap ahead for Globalising Indian Higher Education. The meet aims to provide a platform for the CEOs of the Universities who are involved in policy and decision making in the higher education sector of the country. They are expected to share their views, opinions and make their valuable suggestions to strengthen the higher education system in India during this meet.
About Association of Indian Universities
Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is one of the premier institutions of the country working for the cause of Higher Education since 1925. AIU as an Inter University Board has been acting as a representative body of universities of India to liaise with the universities and the government (central as well as state) and to coordinate among the universities and other apex higher education organizations of the world.
Organizing Zonal Vice-Chancellors’ Meet is one of the regular activities of the AIU.

The objectives of the AIU South Zone Vice-Chancellors’ Meet on Globalising Indian Higher Education: Issues, Challenges and Roadmap shall include:
- Providing opportunity for the Vice-Chancellors’ of the South Zone Universities to network among themselves
- Reviewing the strengths and weaknesses of current Higher Education Institutes in India
- Debating on the roles and responsibilities of government in Higher Education System
- Exploring ways and means of leveraging Technology in enhancing the quality and relevance of Higher Education
- Preparing a white paper on the suggestions and recommendations for Changing the Higher Education System in India
