University of Agricultural Sciences has decided to launch three short term online courses. The courses will range from three to six months. Scientific Writing, Predictive Analytical programmes such as R, Python etc, Bioinformatics and Tackling Climate Change through Global Learning are some of the topics that will be taught in the online courses.

This decision was taken by the university to augment the skills of the postgraduate and undergraduate students who are looking for specialised training in research.

The college has recognized areas in agriculture and allied topics and will probably be prepared with contents and modules by the fourth quarter of 2020,” says Rajendra Prasad, vice-chancellor of the University of Agricultural Sciences. He is also of the opinion that the future of online education is very promising and would also provide students with a better insight into the research field without moving out of their homes.

The overwhelming response for study on-line prompted the college to begin new programs,” he provides. Another advantage of online education is that it can bring faculty and experts from different corners of the world to teach students on a single platform. This will highly reduce the cost burden on the students as well as provide quality education and training without the geographical barriers.


For admission to these courses, the university students will be given preference.  “Candidates will probably be shortlisted primarily based on their educational efficiency and relevance of the chosen course for his or her analysis programme. College students with primary data of those programmes can even be thought-about for admission,” he provides.

Fee Structure and course intake

“The college is but to finalise consumption for every course, nevertheless, it’s prone to be restricted to 50. Initially, the payment will probably be waived for college college students,” provides Prasad.

The course does not contain laboratory visits.

UASB has also initiated Worldwide Digital Summer season Faculty for the following 5 years (2019 to 2024-25) in affiliation with Zurich College of Utilized Sciences, Switzerland and Federal College, Brazil.
