Take on the digitization of education
We are running in the 21st century where technology knows no bounds. This is the phase of radical development where technology is taking over every niche and corner. Digitization has no doubt changed our education system, but we cannot say that it has diminished the value of our old-time classroom learning. Neither do we want something so priceless to turn into dust. The best part about the digitization of education in the 21st century is that it is combined with the aspects of both classroom learning and online learning methods. Walking hand-in-hand both acts as a support system to each other, this gives a stronghold to our modern students.
Enhancing the Student-Industry interaction at ASAP
Forming partnerships with professionals in the building design industry. These relationships have exposed students to industry professionals in various settings through the development of several programs like a seminar, workshop, special lectures and one-year training programme in the 9th and 10th semester in their Academic curriculum. These programs give students first-hand, real-life learning experiences with the profession. In addition to the programs’ educational benefits, by involving industry in many facets of the academic program, networking experiences occur that benefit student by helping them to find future jobs.
Suggestions for today’s aspiring students
Every Young Architect should know how to work to expand their horizons early and often. Look beyond the practice of Architecture every now and again for perspective. Bring something new and innovative to the table. Research and make connections in different fields and industries and then apply that knowledge/thinking back to Architecture. Find what you are best at and go for it! Remember, it might not be Architecture in the traditional sense of the word but it will always be Architectural in the fullest sense of the idea. Test your limits, explore and always keep pushing.
