Dr. D. K. Modi, founder Chairperson, shares his mission, vision and goals about Dr. K. N.  Modi University. He explains his motto and becomes nostalgic on how this institution was a dream of his parents. His father Dr. K. N. Modi was the founder of Dr. K.N. Modi Foundation and established his first college at Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh campus. Now following his footsteps, Dr. D. K. Modi dreams of this institution to be self-financed and become leading center of innovation and learning across the nation.

Ques 1: Kindly tell us about your experience in the education industry and what makes it the best industry to work in?

Ans. I have worked in different kind of Industries all my life. I have always enjoyed working with children of all age groups, whether it is school students or students getting higher education. Since my parents were also passionate about education, so I inherited this passion from them.

Students are the future generation of our country so we should take every possible step to help make a bright future for them. Providing good education is a primary step to a better future generation. If young generation will be not offered good courses, then they will not have a suitable place in society. Hence making them frustrated, which is not a good thing for India.

Ques 2: What makes your Institution different from other Institutions?

Ans. Dr. K N Modi Foundation, the promoting body for Dr. K N Modi University has a motto Value, Knowledge & Character. We believe that every student should have good values in them. If any student lacks those values, they may not have a good knowledge power then it will be affecting their character as well. So a student must have these three things in his life. But if they possesses these qualities then there is no doubt they will be successful in life.

Ques 3: How do you create student centric environment in your University?

Ans. See we are here to cater the needs of students, so everything has to revolve around students only. The students is our only aim, so we believe in providing good education with latest technics embedded. We have got the latest labs for our Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture & B.Ed. students. We try to get the latest books in IT Infrastructure that are available in the market. We constantly keep upgrading our IT Labs. This is the age of Technology, so if the infrastructure is not up to the mark, then how will the students get benefit out of it? So good and relevant courses, latest infrastructure and best possible placement is what we try to provide our students.

Ques 4: How do you look at the placement opportunities offered by your institution and how do you plan to push the envelope further?

Ans. Dr. K N Modi Foundation is in its 75Th year, so we have experience on our side of the table. We have been getting students placed in best possible companies since the beginning. You will be glad to know that our Modinagar campus has so far produced 10 IAS & IPS Officers. Our alumni are recruited in top companies of India. We try to have tie up with the best companies in the relevant field. We have tied up with Infosys, Wipro, IBM, HCL, Accenture, and Wipro for IT placements. For Automobile, we have tied up with TATA Motors, Maruti, and Hero & Bajaj. For Banking, we have tie up with various Banks.  Similarly, for Insurance we have tie up with MAX Life insurance & India info line. So on so forth.

Ques 5: What goals do you have in your mind for your institution for the next few years?

Ans. Dr. K.N. Modi University is a dream of my parents that I have tried to fulfill. This is a temple of learning that provides education to students from 22 different states of India. They study in perfect harmony with our International students.  We are trying hard to acquire a desirable set of values, knowledge, and character as they are the future generation and have the responsibility to bring such desirable changes in the society at large. We try to teach some universal ideals of love, peace, respect, tolerance, forgiveness, coexistence and non-violence. If these values are present in our students, the world will be a better place to live in. I believe that if these ideas are incorporated in the education system, our country can progress much faster. We are try to emphasize on what the student has learned rather than how much marks, position or rank he has attained. If the learner has learned well and has gained in knowledge in true sense – he/she will be a gainer in life.

Knowledge-based learning revolves around both the knowledge that the student already has and the understanding that they are going to achieve by learning or studying more.  We try to build imparting knowledge around this. I agree our faculty has to work really hard for this but the end result will be great. That is why students opt for us as they are aware that they are going to achieve their ultimate goal in life-attaining true knowledge.

There is a great saying by Billy Graham- "When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when a character is lost, all is lost." Hence, we added the importance of Character building to our curriculums. A character cannot be built only at Schools/Institutes. Since birth, children are good learners, they learn what their siblings or parents do. Hence, these elements play a very important role in a child’s character building process. We do our bit by showing them good movies, relating events of historic value and emphasizing the importance of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship.

We truly wish our students set an example by standing apart in society by truly imbibing the values and knowledge imparted to them. I believe my students have achieved great success in their careers and will continue to do so in future.
