BHU Arts Faculty gets First Female Dean in more than 100 years

In its history of more than 100 years, the Banras Hindu University (BHU), Faculty of Arts gets its first female Dean. Professor Ramkali Saraf was appointed as the Dean of Faculty of Arts, BHU on April 30, 2020.
“The faculty of arts, BHU has received its first female dean in more than 100-years of its history. Ramkali Saraf has taken charge as the largest faculty heads of BHU,” a social media post by the university reads.
Prof. Ramkali Saraf formerly worked as a professor in the department of Hindi in BHU. She has been a professor at the BHU for around 38 years.
She has a Ph.D. in Hindi literature. And also is the author of many books and research papers in poetry.
She expertises in language and linguistics especially alodern poetry or Katha Sahitya. She is best known for her interventions in the field of literature-review and her contribution to literary criticism, according to the university’s statement.
