Jadavpur University B.Sc (Hons.) Admission 2017 Notification

Jadavpur University has released the notification for admission to various B.Sc courses for academic session 2017- 2018. Do not visit the university offices for admission details. All information is available on website.

  • Application form submission started from June 1, 2017.
  • Last date of form submission is June 14, 2017.
  • Admission will be based only on merit basis.
  • No admission test will be undertaken.

According to the UGC guidelines, CBCS (Choice based credit system) will be implemented in B.Sc courses from the academic session 2017-18.

Jadavpur university admissions to B.Sc courses 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria must be undertaken to fill up the form by the candidate. The essential criteria is as follows:

  • Must have complete result of 10+2 at the time of application.
  • Incorrect or incomplete application shall be liable to be cancelled.

Different subjects have different eligibility criteria

For Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Geological Sciences:

Candidates must have passed 10+2 in chemistry, physics and mathematics with 70% marks in average obtained.

In case of OBC category, 63% marks in average must be obtained in the 3 subjects as minimum requirement.

In case of SC/ST/PD/Sports category, minimum requirement of 52.5% marks are compulsory in the 3 subjects.

For Geography:

Candidates must have passed 10+2 from recognised board in science with mathematics and any of the two subjects from physics, chemistry, geography or geology and economics, securing 70% marks in average an the 3 subjects.

In case of OBC category, minimum requirement of 63% marks in average is required.

In case of SC/ST/PD/Sports category, minimum of 52.5% marks is required.

Jadavpur university admissions to B.Sc courses 2017 Selection Procedure

Admissions to Honours courses will be strictly on the basis of marks obtained in higher secondary. No separate entrance test will held.

Based on the merit list candidates will be called for interview. The merit list will be prepared as follows:

  • Physics: Score out of 400 as:
    1. 300 for physics,chemistry and mathematics
    2. 100 for physics
  • Chemistry: score out of 400 as:
    1. 300 for physics,chemistry and mathematics
    2. 100 for physics
  • Mathematics: Score out of 400 as:
    1. 300 for physics, chemistry and mathematics
    2. 100 for mathematics
  • Geological sciences: Score out of 300 i.e physics, chemistry and mathematics.
  • Geography: score out of 300 and mathematics with 2 subjects from physics, chemistry, geology, geography and economics.

Application procedure for B.Sc (Honours) Courses

Candidates must visit the official website and apply online. Before applying, candidates must read the instructions carefully.

  • Fill up the complete form will all the academic and personal information.
  • Click ‘Save’ and choose the desired subjects you want to apply for.
  • Pay the application fee after 48 hours of filling the form through state bank collect.
  • Upload the fee deposit details into the system by relogin into the account.
