Hyderabad, March 25, 2019: School of Technology (SoT) and GITAM Business School (GHBS) of GITAM deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad celebrated Achievers’ Day at its Campus today. The event was organised to hand over the offers of appointments to selected students of Engineering and Management.
With GITAM’s campus placement process a total of 600 students were placed in various reputed companies. About 120 companies participated in the final placements, 15% more than last year. GITAMITES bagged more than 150 multiple offers.
Nearly 85% students of B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA were placed in Services and Product core Companies like MuSigma, Amazon, TCS, Wipro, Syntel, Mindtree, NTT Data, Valuemomentum, TCS, Virtusa and many more.
MuSigma selected GITAMITEs with a salary of Rs.21 lakh for 3 years, Amazon Rs.16.05 lakhs, Agilitix Rs.8 lakhs, TVS Motors Rs.7.9 lakhs, DBS 7.02 lakhs, Capital First Rs.7 lakhs, Urenok Software Solutions Rs.6.99 lakhs, OpenText and Mahindra Finance Rs.6.8 lakhs, Optum, Host Analytics and Nestle Rs.6.5 lakhs, Keka Technologies, OSTC, Ambuja Cements and Deloitte Rs.6 lakhs, Berkadia 5.71 lakhs, Hitachi Consulting Rs.5.5 lakhs per annum and Amazon Internship Rs.45K per month. About 20 companies offered CTC of more than Rs.5 lakh packages.
TCS recruited 105 engineering students from GITAM Hyderabad Campus. Companies like Wipro (41), Voluemomentum and Genpact Digital (36 each), Syntel (28), Virtusa and Mindtree (23 each), NTT Data (20) and Musigma (12) recruited students from GITAM Hyderabad. Other companies like ADP, Amara Raja, Berkadia, Corcompete, Cyient, Dr. Reddy’s, Excers, Factset, HCL, Hostanalytics, HSBC, Hyundai, Microsoft, Modak analytics, Nineleaps, Real Variable, S& P Capital IQ, Saddle Point, Tavisca, Technovert, UX Reactor and Verizon visited GITAM and selected the budding engineers and managers as per their choice.
The Achievers’ Day Celebration began at 11.00 AM, starting with messages from the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Directors. Dr. Nathi Venu Kumar, Director, T&P delivered the welcome speech and Prof. M.Akka Lakshmi proposed the vote of thanks.
Sri Venkatesh Palabatla, Chief Human Resources Officer, GMR Hyderabad International Airport graced this occasion as chief guest. ‘Be clear what you are going to do. Love your job. If you love it you are willing to do so many things’ he advised to the newly recruited students. He also said to keep giving their best in each and every endeavour. ‘You must be the best team player. Continuous learning is required. It is an unending process. Skill V/s. will. Develop performing better skills. You must acquire the ability,’ he added.
Prof. K. Siva Rama Krishna, Vice-Chancellor (In-charge), GITAM gave an inspiring message - ‘When you are confident enough, you can do the best. That clarity gives you confidence. You have to improve the clarity that functional to overall business’ he told. To all the newly recruited, he said that they are the brand ambassadors of GITAM and joining in the pool of alumni. He advised the students to face the challenges and convert them as opportunities.
Prof. N.Siva Prasad, Pro Vice-Chancellor spoke about how technology was evolving at a very fast pace these days. As a student, one must be an all-rounder which GITAM is determined to work on. He appreciated the tireless efforts of the achievers, Training & Placements Dept. and the faculty. With this, Prof. Y. Lakshman Kumar, Dean & Director of GITAM Business School, presented a report on the placements of MBA graduates.
