IIBM organizes International research conference, EKTAARA

Vishweshwar Education Society’s Indira Institute of Business Management organized EKTAARA, an international research conference recently. The theme of the conference was ‘The Global Manager – Moving Towards a Futuristic Perspective by Redefining Boundaries’.His Grace Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, Metropolitan of Bombay Diocese, blessed the conference with his auspicious presence.
Chief Guest, Dr. Radhakrishnan Pillai, renowned author, leadership speaker, trainer, and mentor to countless people, enthralled the audience with his inspiring speech on the importance of research in every field.He spoke about the need to find the right guru who would help the researcher in the quest for knowledge. Guest of Honour Mr. David Wittenberg, Innovator, Entrepreneur, and Professor at Indira School of Management and Entrepreneurship, motivated students to bring about a much-needed change in the country by taking initiatives and becoming job creators, by moving out of their comfort zones and thinking beyond their functions and industry.
Keynote speaker Ms. Cicely Greaves, Principal CEO Regard for Virtues – Industrial Organization Development, and TV host, in her video presentation, suggested the need to check one’s thoughts, charge oneself and change to succeed and make a difference. She listed strategies for an effective global manager.Judges Dr. R.K. Saily, Director - GNVS Institute of Management, and Dr. Sujata Chincholkar, Director – Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Management Studies, adjudged the best papers in the student and professional categories.
The conference included paper presentations on a variety of interesting and diverse topics ranging from Workplace Ethics to Exploring the Use of Robots in Teaching to Digital Marketing to Risk Management, to Demonetization to Investment Options in Real Estate and Alternative Investment. The participants included industry professionals as well as students and professors from institutes like SIES College, Rohidas Patil Institute of Management Studies, Narayana Education Society, Garware Institute of Career Education and Development, GNVS Institute of Management, KY Somaiya College of Arts Commerce, Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research, RICS School of Built Environment, Amity, Dr. BMN College of Home Science, and Patrick college, and Moulay University, Algeria to name a few.The conference was an intellectually stimulating and enriching experience with tremendous knowledge-sharing opportunities.
