Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Kumar Dwivedi is currently working as Director, and Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering , Oriental College of Technology, Bhopal ,M.P. He received his B.E. (Mechanical Engineering) from Barkatullah University, Bhopal, M. Tech. (Production Engineering) from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi (Presently renamed as Delhi Technological University, Delhi) and Ph. D (Mechanical Engineering) from University Institute of Technology, Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal M.P. India. In the following interview he describes what are the key factors to keep him connected to the education system. He believes that decisions should be made based on the inputs of each member of the organization. He then describes the most effective strategy to impart quality education and how it differs from the general trends followed in the Indian educational system. He further describes his roles and responsibilities and the vision of the institute. In the later segment he highlights the core strengths of the institute along with the future plans he has for the students.
The key factor to keep me connected to the education domain is the respect from the society
There are many key factors which keep me connected with the education sector, but the most important one is the respect which I get from society as an educator. Secondly, I feel it’s a great opportunity to mould the career in a better way, of so many budding engineers. It gives me immense pleasure when I see them placed in good companies and fulfilling their dreams. Education sector is the only profession which can serve the entire society and contribute towards it. We are sharing our knowledge to enlighten the society by educating the youth of the society as per demand of the industry and preparing them industry ready.

I believe in democratic leadership style where the decisions are based on the input of each member of the organization. This brings the sense of belonging amongst the employees towards the organization.

One of the most effective strategies to get a good reputation in society is imparting quality education to our students and facilitating them with best placement opportunities. Our students, parents, alumni working in top MNCs and other prestigious Govt organizations across the world are the medium to publicise the good image of our institution in the society.We always focus on the overall development of our students, which in turn makes them capable to grab the placement opportunities in top MNCs, Govt.and Public sectors and also to become successful entrepreneurs.
The general trend of Indian education system does not let the creative mind to blossom
Indian education system focuses more on theory rather than practical. It doesn't allow creativity. Whereas in foreign countries; they focus more on practical based learning. Foreign education curriculum contains everything from arts to sports along with studies. Here, at Oriental College of Technology,we provide the complete knowledge of theory as well practicals to our students. Management has provided world class infrastructure, well equipped laboratories of all the disciplines, highly qualified and experienced faculty members to meet the current demand of the industries. As a Director it is my responsibility to develop the institute in all the verticals
My role and responsibility as Director plays a very important role in the development of the institution. I am responsible for the Statutory as well as Operational duties of the Institution. My role in the organization is to develop and implement the best practices of Academics and Research in the Institution to ensure a holistic development of the students and staff.
