- March 24, 2018: International Conference on ‘Trends & Innovations Implying Future Technology’
The Department of Computer Science organized an International Conference on ‘Trends & Innovations Implying Future Technology’ in association with Computer Society of India (CSI) on March 24, 2018. The Chief Guest of the day was Dr. E Balagurusamy, Former Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai and the Keynote Speaker was Dr. Muralidhara B. L., Professor, and Chairman, Department of Computer Science and Applications, Bangalore University. During the inaugural function, Dr. E Balagurusamy highlighted the relevance of creativity and inquisitive mind in developing innovative ideas. In the keynote address on ‘Digital Divide’, Dr. Muralidhara mentioned about how academicians and students together can make a difference to bridge the gap between technology and society. 70 teams from 25 various colleges presented their papers on themes like IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Cities, Data Mining, Wearable Technologies, etc.

Dr. Jija Madhavan Harisingh, former DGP said: “Women empowerment and women equality are highly contextual and complex issues which are two sides of the same coin” while inaugurating a NABARD sponsored national conference ‘A Multi-Dimensional Approach on Women Empowerment: ‘Voice and Visibility’ at St. Claret College, Bengaluru.

PG Department of Commerce organized a B-talk on “HR Processes & Systems” for M.Com and B.Com students on March 3, 2018. The Resource person was Mr. Purushotham S Bhadri, Assistant HR Manager from Recipharm, Pharmaservices Pvt Ltd, Bangalore. He gave insights on HR functions, concepts, appraisal techniques, the scope of artificial intelligence and the overall skills required for students to excel in the competitive world. The students also got benefited with the interactive session held on various practical HR processes.

One Day Seminar on ‘Skill Development’ was organized by IQAC and RPC of St. Claret College in association with Skill Development Corporation, Govt. of Karnataka on March 2, 2018. Mr. Muralidhar Halappa, Chairman, Skill Development Corporation, and Govt. of Karnataka was the chief guest for the seminar.

- February 21, 2018: Industrial Visit to RBI
The PG Department of Commerce and Department of Commerce jointly organized an Industrial Visit to ‘Reserve Bank of India’, Bangalore for M.Com first and B.Com final year students on February 21, 2018. Two sessions were arranged for the students, where Mr. Praveen, the Assistant General Manager of RBI and the head of Financial Literacy Department of RBI briefed about the different bank terminologies, concepts, functions of RBI and financial inclusion schemes. The students got a practical insight of RBI.
