It is ironic as we fret for the upcoming summer season, most students of S.S.C and H.S.C are elated as their board exams are finally getting over by 31st March 2017. These youngsters, who will be ‘Busy Bees’ after a few days of rest, would already be browsing through different entrance tests, believing that cracking them would lead to college universities offering valuable education.
But finding valuable education for these tender minds is a challenge. Though there are Universities by the dozen all across in India; it is the state of Maharashtra that holds the rank for its sheer number of colleges and Universities. There are 4631 colleges affiliated to 44 universities as per a published newspaper report, and the number seems to increase every year.
Getting the Real Picture
Every year, there are hundreds of individuals who clear their S.S.C and H.S.C examinations and then take the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET), wherein their score allows for admission in any of the colleges affiliated to the test. However, educational analysts point out that depending just on the MH- CET examination or any other joint competitive examination to decide your future education may not always be prudent.
While researching, students will find that only a small percentage of universities affiliated to joint entrance examinations offer merit value in their education. Others just offer the higher education degree and fail to transform students into a skilled workforce ready for the corporate world or industry.
Students with time on their side must do some realistic study of all the institutes they would like to take admission in. When done in a proper manner, this will highlight the ground realities of several institutes; one can do this by studying their websites, meeting ex-students or even visiting the institute to get a fair picture of the institute.
Emergence of Self-Financed Universities
Luckily, now there are several self-financed universities that have adopted a novel modern method of teaching that is being appreciated not just by students but also by recruiters. Sandip University, based in Trimbak Nashik is one such University which in its large campus offers numerous programs for students from all over India. Rising quickly purely on academic merit, it today ranks amongst Top – 10 emerging institutes in India.
Unlike universities that are affiliated to MH-CET, Sandip University has its own SU-JEE-2017 Scholarship cum Entrance Test. Students after completing their board exams can appear for the SU-JEE-2017 entrance test and depend on how they score, they can secure admission to any of its affiliated programs. The only eligibility criteria for students is that they be an Indian national and of minimum 16 years of age. Registrations are already on, and because of the overwhelming response received they have extended it until 10th April 2017.
What sets Sandip University apart from remaining universities in Maharashtra is that it is the 1st self-financed University in north Maharashtra, and has several unique facilities that put it on the same platform as some of the world’s best universities. Notable features would be the 100% Scholarship it provides to eligible students, a novel and unique syllabus, and faculty that includes (IIT’s and NITians) to teach students in a modern manner. This methodology by all accounts can be considered as a step towards valuable education.Last Updated - 07 Apr 2017
