Dr. TR Pachamuthu, Founder Chancellor, SRM University inaugurated the SRM-AP Amaravati academic program for the year 2017-18 on Monday at its newly constructed premises in Neerukonda village in the capital region of Andhra Pradesh.
On this occasion, he stated that this is the fourth university of SRM group where around 65,000 students are pursuing different courses. He said that though, many states have offered to set up SRM university in their states but they preferred Andhra Pradesh. He also stated that with a good support from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the construction of university buildings is completed in a short time period of 150 days. He said that another important aspect to prefer Andhra Pradesh is that most of SRM students are from this state.
Pachamuthu also said that his ambition is to develop SRM- AP Amaravati as a world class educational institution. He told the students that they are the first batch from SRM-AP Amaravati and also said that the future image of the university depends on their efforts. He promised that SRM will take care of the students and also asked to 'trust us'. He said that SRM is a right place for students which has partnerships with prestigious foreign universities.
Dr. P. Satyanarayanan, Managing Trustee, SRM-AP Amaravati shared a message with the students, 'You glitter and SRM will glitter'. He has also advised developing the creativity with the support from highly qualified and faculty with international exposure. 'You are not job seekers, but job providers' by attaining the knowledge and quality in the career, he told the students. Senior Executive Director, Nanyang Technical University, Singapore has said that the ties between Singapore and Andhra Pradesh have been improving and announced that with that aim, his university is willing to have a partnership with SRM-AP Amaravati.
Dr. D Narayana Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor, acknowledged the presence of the guests, students, and parents who were there to attend the function. Professor Nicholas B Dirk, Former Chancellor, University of California, Berkley, USA; Professor M S Vijay Kumar from MIT, USA; Professor B V R Chowdari; Prof. Prasant Mohapatra, Dean of graduate studies, University of California, Davis, USA and other dignitaries attended the inaugural session.Last Updated - 09 Aug 2017
