NIET, Greater Noida to start 'BTech Computer Science and Business Systems' (CSBS) course with TCS

TCS, India's largest software company, has aligned with leading educational institutions in the country like NIET Greater Noida to tailor the syllabus as per industry requirements to meet the growing demand of engineering talent. NIET Greater Noida is the first and only educational institution of AKTU in UP to start BTech Computer Science and Business Systems course (CSBS). Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology, Noida signed a MOU with TCS to offer CSBS programs to the students in the upcoming batch. The MOU was signed by Raman Batra, Executive Director, Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology and Tej Bhatla, Vice President and Head North India Operations and Government Business India, TCS. As part of the MoU, TCS will support Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology by training and developing their faculty and organising guest lectures by expert practitioners from the industry.
To meet the growing need for engineering talent with required skills in digital technology, TCS, in partnership with leading academics across India, designed a curriculum for a 4-year undergraduate program on Computer Science called "Computer Science and Business Systems''. This curriculum aims to ensure that the students graduating from the program not only know the core topics of Computer Science but also develop an equal appreciation of humanities, management sciences and human values. The students are also exposed to emerging topics such as Analytics, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things etc to make them industry ready at the end of four years of study. This curriculum has been approved by the Executive Committee of AICTE and is available in the AICTE drop-down menu of nomenclatures for engineering courses.

According to Mr. Raman Batra, Executive Vice president, NIET- Greater Noida said “The objective of NIET is to provide quality education to its students and give them their desired employment. Due to its quality education, excellent placement and the hard work of NIET stakeholders, NIET Greater Noida has been given the status of the first private sector autonomous institute by the UGC in Uttar Pradesh. The BTech Computer Science and Business Systems course will not only help in enhancing students 'engineering skills and knowledge, but will also give a new dimension to students' knowledge of Humanities, Management and Human Values. The main feature of this course is to make students aware of the wide dimension of the industry as well as the teachers trained by TCS themselves.” High standards of teaching will be followed in this course and the process of reading and evaluation will be monitored by TCS itself, in which TCS experts will play an active role. TCS will provide its full support to organize industrial training and expert lectures in the course.

Noida (NIET-TBI) conducted the panel discussion on “Women Entrepreneurship – Empowering the Empowered” on Nov 7, 2020 on an online platform and featured the event live on its Facebook and YouTube platform. Latika Wadhwa, Founder of Mompreneur Circle, Saumya Aggarwal, CEO & Co-founder: Youth For Peace International, Pallavee Agarwal, Founder Director of Brainathon Abacus Academy, Pallavi Barnwal - TEDx Speaker, Intimacy Coach, Founder of GetIntimacy, Aparna Mishra – Founder-CWEHUB, Founder-Women Shine & Mr. Raman Batra, Executive Vice President NIET, Greater Noida graced the event with their presence. Students from various streams, faculty, startups and other staff from varied private and government organizations also witnessed this mega event.
The main objective of this panel discussion was to help audience understand the different facets of women entrepreneurial journey. It is further aimed to establish and strengthen the position of women technologist, innovators and entrepreneurs to enable the maximum number of women to choose entrepreneurship as an alternative career option. Introducing the theme of the panel discussion, Mr. Raman Batra – Executive Vice President, NIET, Greater Noida; highlighted how “Women Entrepreneurship Panel discussion” can help increase awareness about the pool of opportunities for the women in startup ecosystem. While appreciating the initiative by Technology Business Incubator, he mentioned the existing gaps and challenges faced by business women. Aparna Mishra – Founder-CWEHUB, Founder-Women Shine, in her keynote address to all women that if any woman wants to really pursue her dream and passion then take a dip in the ocean of entrepreneurship and if she has that confidence and persistence, she will be able to swim through the tides. The event was also graced by the presence of Latika Wadhwa - Founder of Mompreneur Circlewho enlightened the session on the current scenario which is really scary for womenfolk in general as the workload has increased on them due to which a lot of them gave up on their businesses however with a stronger framework & support system in hand which through our work we are offering , the women in business will not only be excelling well but also will be bringing a great change into economic conditions of the nation.
Pallavee Agarwal, founder & director of Brainathon Abacus Academy, highlighted that women are very essential human resource of the country and they can plan a key role for the economic growth and development. So, women entrepreneurship should be given due importance as women have the innate ability and potential to be the greatest multi tasker but Indian traditions and sociological structure are the main hurdles in the way of women entrepreneurship development. Pallavi Barnwal, renowned TEDx Speaker, Intimacy Coach and the Founder of GetIntimacy spoke about the innovative business ideas that form an important part of our life and wellbeing.
Lastly, Saumya Aggarwal, CEO & Co-founder: Youth for Peace International highlighted that there is an invisible element that is gifted to us by the society i.e. fear. Fear of failing, fear of making mistakes, fear of not being in position to influence and the list continues. She also presented an alternative to get over from it. “It's okay to be nervous. Instead of fighting that anxiety, dance with it, welcome it. Relish it. It's a sign we are on to something. When we welcome a feeling like this, when we embrace it and look forward to it, the feeling doesn't get louder and more debilitating. It softens, softens to the point where we can work with it. So use your fear like fuel.
NIET, Greater Noida becomes India’s First & Only Engineering Institute to be E- LEAD certified

Noida Institute of Engineering & technology, Greater Noida has been awarded as India’s First & Only Engineering Institute to be E- Lead certified by honourable Union Human Resource Development Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal. NIET is the Only Institute in education category to be E- LEAD (E-Learning Excellence in Academic Digitization) certified.
Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India presented this certificate to NIET Greater Noida in an online ceremony held on 14 May 2020. Educational institutions were provided with the scorecard based on rating of four major indices, namely, Student Faculty Engagement, Learning Management System, Information Technology Support and Best Practices in Information Technology. Institution’s scorecard gives you a concise overview of every Institution’s performance with respect to each indicator that was assessed in the audit. Out of 150, the eligibility of these indices was 120 marks. Out of 150, NIET not only ensured its place by exceeding the eligible criteria of 120 marks but also scored way higher with 140 marks and became the India’s Only institute in education category to be E-LEAD Certifed.
Dr. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice Chancellor, AKTU congratulated NIET and appreciated its continuous efforts and great initiatives to enable online enriched expanding platforms to engage, share and communicate at the time of such distress. He said that just as NIET is an exemplary for other institutions that has always insisted on innovation in education and striving for state-of-the-art technologies, the result of which is that today the institute has been rewarded for its academic quality
Mr. Raman Batra, Executive Vice President, NIET said, “the manner in which the Vice-Chancellor inspired us is praiseworthy and his motivation and guidelines in obtaining this certificate are commendable”. He further added that amidst Covid -19 outbreak after receiving the order of Dr. Vinay Pathak, Vice Chancellor of AKTU on 17 March 2020, NIET Greater Noida took quick steps and made all its educational activities available to students through online channel and became the first institute of AKTU to start its classes through online medium. By creating login IDs of all 300 teachers and about 5000 students, NIET launched the classes of all the courses within 4 hours of the notification received on online platform “IMPARTUS” and Google Classroom.
Dr. Vinod M Kapse, Director, NIET said, “the hard work and passion with which management, teachers and students participated in online educational activities has resulted in NIET getting QS e-LEAD certificate”.QS is the world's leading institute for ranking educational institutions and in such a situation, the grant of E-LEAD certificate by QS to NIET indicates that the institute is using facilities and technology with international standards in online educational activities. Such initiatives will further enable the institution in ideating the roadmap for improvements and their implementation in respective areas. In the survey conducted by QS, it has been found that NIET has done excellent work in all the activities related to academic like online classes, online assignments, online quizzes, webinars, NPTL courses, virtual labs etc.
