MAH CET 2019 or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is an annual, state-level, computer-based post graduate management entrance test. It is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra for candidates seeking admission to post graduate programs in management in participating institutes of Maharashtra. MAH CET 2019 exam is scheduled to take place in March 2019.

  • MAH CET 2019 is an online exam of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration.

  • There will be 200 questions in MCQ format, carrying 1 mark each with no provision for negative marking.

  • Candidates need to pay the application fee of INR 1000 for Gen/OBC category and INR 800 for reserved category candidates.
  • Admission to the management programs is done through a Centralized Admission Process or CAP convened by the DTE, Maharashtra.

MAH CET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Interested aspirants for the exam must fulfil general eligibility criteria for MAH CET 2019 and the same are mentioned below.

  • Applicants must be citizens of India. DTE also specifies conditions applicable for NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign Candidates, the details of which are available on the official website.
  • A Bachelors’ degree in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for reserved category candidates).
  • Applicants in the final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to apply provided the results for the same are declared before the commencement of the admission process for the academic year.
  • Valid scores of CAT and CMAT will be acceptable for admission, subject to fulfilment of other eligibility conditions.
  • As a state level entrance test, DTE specifies several conditions distinguishing between candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra, candidates from rest of India, Linguistic/Religious Minorities, and J&K Migrants.

MAH CET 2019 Application Form

The Registration of MAH CET 2019 has to be completed online through the official website. MAH CET Application Form 2019 will be available from January 2019 till February 2019. The steps involved in the Registration for MAH CET 2019 are mentioned below.

  • Visit the official website of MAH CET.
  • Click on the link "MAH CET Application Form".
  • Provide contact information, personal, educational and work experience and the ID that you will use at the test center.
  • After choosing the course and filling up the correct and proper information, upload the required scanned documents
  • The application form should be complete in all respect before submitting.
  • Click on "Submit" button.
  • MAH CET Application Fees must be paid via Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card or by means of the E-Challan.
  • Save and Print MAH CET 2019 Application Form for future use.

MAH CET Admit Card 2019

Applicants who register successfully for MAH CET 2019 and submit the Application Form complete in all respects will be issued the admit card about a week before the scheduled exam date. Applicants can access and download their admit cards from the official website using their login credentials.

The steps involved in downloading the Admit Card are:

  1. Visit the official website, i.e. www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in
  2. Click on the ‘MAH CET 2019 Admit Card’ tab.
  3. Enter login credentials in space provided.
  4. The admit card will be displayed on-screen.
  5. Review the details printed on the Admit Card before obtaining prints of the same.

MAH CET 2019 Admit Card is a mandatory document without which candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates are advised to preserve their admit card copies until the admission process gets over. The Admit Card will display the following details:

  • Candidate’s Full Name
  • Photograph of the Candidate
  • Exam date
  • Exam venue
  • Application ID
  • Candidate’s phone number and address

Any discrepancy in the details printed on the Admit Card should be reported immediately the exam coordinator.


MAH CET 2019 Exam Centers

Applicants can, during the application process, select any three locations, in order of preference, as their choice of exam center. Please note that once selected, the choice of center cannot be changed. The allocation of exam center is done by DTE on the basis of the candidate’s preference, though the DTE’s decision in this regard is final and binding on all.

MAH CET Exam Pattern 2019

MAH CET 2019 is a computer-based test comprising multiple-choice questions. The total number of questions that can be expected are 200 and the time duration for the same is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

  • Each correct answer will be awarded one mark and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • Applicants will be tested on their verbal ability and reading comprehension skills, quantitative aptitude and logical/abstract reasoning skills.
  • The number of questions, difficulty level and the time limit for each section is always same regardless of the when or where the test is conducted.

MAH CET 2019 Result

Based on previous trends, the results for MAH CET 2019 can be expected to be declared within a week from the scheduled test date. After publication of the results, the merit list will be drawn using standardized equi-percentile method, equating scores of all examinees.

Admission and seat allotment will be done on the basis of merit list. The scorecards as well as merit ranking will be available to download/access from the candidate’s login page on the official website. Post publication of result, aspirants are advised to apply to the participating institutes of their Choice through DTE.

The MAH CET 2019 Result can be downloaded by following these steps:

MAH CET 2019 Counseling

The counseling and seat allotment for admission is conducted by DTE Maharashtra on the basis of merit ranking through a Centralized Admission Process or CAP for admission to almost 400 B-schools in Maharashtra. CAP is the final admission round for MBA admission to institutes like Bhartiya Vidyapeeth's Institute of Management Studies & Research, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research etc.

CAP for MAH CET 2019 is expected to be held in May 2019 and will be conducted in 3 rounds which include:

  • Document and Identity Verification
  • Matching of candidate’s choice of Institute/Program
  • Seat availability and fulfilment of eligibility conditions

Depending on the merit rank obtained by a candidate as well as seat availability, the final allotment takes place. Candidate must mandatorily carry the score card and admit card for MAH CET to the counselling venue as specified by the authority.
