CMAT 2017:Examination Dates Announced; To Be Conducted On January 28 & 29, 2017

AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) will be conducting National level computer based (Common Management Admission Test) CMAT 2017 on January 28, 2017 and January 29, 2017 for facilitating AICTE approved institutions, University Departments / constituent colleges / Affiliated colleges to select suitable candidates for admission in post graduate management for the academic year 2017-18.

CMAT 2017 will be held on January 28, 2017, & January 29, 2017. The registration process will start on October 10, 2016. A candidate must keep track of all the important dates of AICTE CMAT so that aspirants does not miss any deadline. Given below are the important CMAT Examination Dates:

CMAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for CMAT 2017 is released in October 2016 along with the other notifications for CMAT. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is responsible for setting the CMAT Eligibility Criteria. The below-listed set of eligibility criteria is applicable for admission to the following courses- PGCM, PGDM, Executive PGDM, MBA and similar courses of management.

1. Applicant must be a citizen of India.

2. Final year students of Graduate Courses (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for the academic year 2017-18 can also apply for CMAT online exam.

3. Graduates in any discipline can apply for CMAT exam.

CMAT 2017 Application Process

CMAT 2017 Application Process can be completed online on the official website. The Application process for CMAT is a 3-step process – Registration, Filling Online Application form and Payment of Application fee. The CMAT Application Form can be completed only within the stipulated time period.

Step 1. CMAT Registration

Candidates have to follow the steps mentioned below for completing the CMAT Registration. A system generated unique password is mailed to the candidates after they have successfully registered for CMAT 2017.

1. Visit the CMAT official website i.e.

2. Click on the link “New User”.

3. Enter the required credentials and click on “submit button”.

4. After submitting the details, a 6-digit password will be received via SMS or on valid email-id.

5. During subsequent login, candidates need to click on the EXISTING USER and log in with the registered email id and unique password.

Step 2. Filling Online Application Form

The next step after Registration is filling the remaining part of CMAT Application Form. The filling of CMAT online Application form involves following steps:

1. Enter the required credentials accurately.

2. In order to check the filled application form or if want to make any changes in the form, then click on the link “View/Modify”.

3. After completion of a form, accept the declaration and click on a link “I Agree”.

4. On successful submission, a confirmation message would appear on the screen.

5. To make a preview, candidates click on “Preview” option.

6. Take a print out of the same for future reference.

Step 3. Application Fee Payment Process

Payment can be done via two modes:

  • Online Payment
  • Cash Payment

CMAT Online payment mode: Candidates can pay CMAT fee through online (Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking).

Once your payment is successfully done, you will receive a confirmation E-mail and SMS. Once you have received the successful payment confirmation, you can proceed with the remaining part of registration process.

CMAT Cash payment mode: The candidate can also pay by cash if this option is more suitable to him but cash payment is to be made in SBI bank only.

Steps to pay through cash payment mode –

a. At any of the designated SBI bank branch, a candidate can select this option to pay by CASH.

b. Through this process, Challan will be generated with your details already filled in it.

c. Candidate need to take 3 PRINT OUTS of this CHALLAN, fill in the details wherever required in all the copies, and walk into your nearest SBI bank branch with CASH on the next day of generation of Challan.

Note: Cash Deposit will be accepted only from the next day of your Challan generation.

CMAT 2017 Application Fees

Candidates are required to pay the stipulated application fee for completing the CMAT 2017 Application Process.

CMAT 2017 Admit Card

All the duly enlisted candidates will only be issued the admit card. From January 2017, CMAT Admit Card will be made accessible for the candidates to download. It will be accessible in online mode only. The admit card will likewise be sent to the registered email address provided by the candidates, but it won't be sent by means of a post. The applicants must carry their CMAT2017 admit card to their respective test centre on the date of the examination for having the entry. CMAT 2017 Exam Pattern

The CMAT examination is a computer based test. The examination is divided into 4 sections with 100 multiple choice questions in total. For every correct answer marked, 4 marks will be awarded and 1 mark will be deducted for marking a wrong answer. It is a 3-hour duration examination which tests the basic knowledge and problem solving skills of the candidate. CMAT 2017 Result

No particular date for the declaration of the result has been revealed. However, it is expected that the result for CMAT 2017 will likely be announced in the second week of February 2017. Along with the result, the merit list will likewise be released. CMAT 2017 Cutoff

There are more than 400 B-Schools affiliated to AICTE which acknowledge the CMAT scores for granting management admission to the deserving applicants. After the declaration of CMATResult, these management institutes will disclose their individual CMAT Cutoff. It will be out for each and every category or class and for the most part the cut off stay on a higher side only. The minimum CMAT 2017 percentile for prestigious and great B-schools in India is expected to range in the middle of 97-99 percentile. Taking into account these cut-offs and the selection criteria's set around by these institutes, the applicants will be shortlisted for further selection procedure. The selection criteria and cut offs may differ for each and every institute. Usually, the selection procedure includes a Written Test and a Personal Interview. Some of the institutes conduct a Group Discussion round too.
