NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
After the declaration of CAT 2018 result, all the participating institutes will release their separate cut off list. Candidates who will score equal or more than CAT cut off marks are only eligible to apply for their desired institute.
CAT cut off is determined on the basis of various factors such as number of candidates appeared for exam, difficulty level of paper, number of qualified candidates and previous year cut off trends

IIM (Indian Institute of Management) Calcutta has released the official notification of CAT 2018 on July 29. CAT 2018 will be held on November 25, 2018 (Sunday) at various exam centers. The result for CAT 2018 will be announced in the second week of January 2019.
CAT 2018 Online Registration has started from August 8 and will continue until September 19, 2018. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks can register at the official website i.e. iimcat.ac.in.

According to the experts, the overall CAT cutoff is expected to be higher than last year. While Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning will have the lowest sectional cutoff, Quantitative Ability cutoff have the highest one. VARC sectional cutoff will be similar to that of last year.

IIMs will release the scaled scores in order to meet the CAT normalization process which is to ensure that the scores of both sessions' test takers are equated since CAT is conducted in two slots. IIMs normalize the CAT scores using a formula similar to that of GATE. At the time of result, scaled scores for each section along with percentiles will be announced.
The cutoff ranges between 85-99 percentiles and above for the top B-schools in India accepting CAT scores after which the next round of CAT selection procedure including Writing Ability Test (WAT) or Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds will be conducted.
Apart from the top leading IIMs of India, there are Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) and other top B-schools that accept CAT Score too. The expected CAT 2018 percentile for some of the top b-schools is provided in the table given below-
