NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The registrations for CAT (Common Aptitude Test), one of the top most management entrance exam, have shot up to a seven seven-year record with 232,434 applications for admission to their flagship management courses. The previous original deadline for CAT Exam was September 22, which was set by IIM Bangalore. Due to the rise seen in the amount of CAT applications and requests made by the candidates with incomplete applications, the CAT Registration window was further extended by 5 days. Last year, the total number of registrations for CAT exam were 218,664 and this year CAT registration number is highest after 2009. The interest of Management aspirants in management courses have surely seen a hike, this year, as CAT Registration has touched the bar of over 230,000 applications.

As of September 27, 2016; the CAT Applications saw the tally of 2.32 Lakh. CAT Convener, Rajendra K Bandi took a decision to extend the CAT Registration deadline by 5 days, which ended on September 27, 2016. He added "The primary reason for the extension is to facilitate the applicants who are still in the process of completing their CAT Applications. There are many applicants in this stage, and we have been getting a lot of requests from them."
Since 2009, the number of CAT applications have been below the expectations of IIMs. But, this year, IIM Bangalore remarked that "Total applications for CAT 2016 as of 5 pm (closing time) on September 27, 2016 is 2, 32,434". Apart from IIMs, nearly hundred top business schools such as Management Development Institute, Gurgaon; Birla Institute of Management Technology in Greater Noida; SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai and the management departments at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) select candidates through CAT 2016.
To get admission into various management courses in IIMs and other top management schools, CAT acts as a major platform. This entrance test is computer based exam, which is for M.B.A admissions in 19 IIM’S and over 150 B’ schools. CAT Entrance exam is organized on rotational basis by 19 IIM’s. CAT 2016 is being organized IIM Bangalore. The registration process has been initiated from August 8th 2016, which will be ongoing until September 22, 2016. Candidates can apply for the CAT Registration between this tenure by following a registration procedure. CAT Exam will take place on December 4, 2016.

Date for downloading CAT Admit Card 2016 is October 8, 2016. For a candidate, admit card carries a relevance in a sense that it is a document which is compulsory for appearing in CAT examination. The admit card for CAT 2016 will be released online on the official website for CAT and will be available for download from October 18, 2016 to December 4, 2016.
Please Note: Since CAT 2016 is the mandatory exam to apply for admission not only to IMI Delhi but also to other top B-schools, the candidates should get themselves register for CAT before September 22, 2016 as IIM Bangalore has clarified that there is no proposal to extend the last date of CAT Registration.

The result for the CAT Exam will be declared in the month of January in 2017. CAT Result include the percentile scored in the CAT exam. Candidates who secure the required percentage are then called for the next round of selection which includes Group Discussion, Written Ability Test, and Personal Interview.
The CAT Result will be declared on the CAT official website and can be downloaded by logging in to candidate’s profile. The official CAT score will contain percentile score, scaled score and marks scored in each section of CAT exam. The percentile scored will be communicated to the candidates on the mobile number provided by them during the CAT Registration.
For attempting CAT Exam, candidates need to have a thorough information about CAT Exam Centres. In the year 2015, the number of CAT exam centers were increased from 307 to 650 for the ease of candidates appearing for exam. During the CAT Application Process, you have to select four preferences for exam city from a drop down menu. It is out of these four preferences, you will be allotted an exam city and your CAT exam center. Time slot for CAT examination is allotted randomly.
