IIM Bodh Gaya Admission Criteria through CAT 2018

Admission criteria of Indian Institute of Management, Bodh Gaya (IIM-B), for admission to Post Graduate Program (PGP) is based on CAT Score. Apart from the score of CAT exam, the admission also depends upon the past academics and prior work experience. CAT 2018 is scheduled for 25 November (Sunday).

Some highlights of the IIM Bodh Gaya Admission criteria 2018: 

  • CAT Cut off for the General category student is greater than or equal to 90 percentile to be eligible for admission, but this does not ensure allotment of seat.
  • The selection of candidates for admission will be based on their performance in Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT), after the declaration of CAT Result.
  • A merit list is declared for the selected students after the successful completion of all the rounds.
  • The final selection criteria will be based on norms such as 10th Result, 12th Result, Graduation Marks, Gender Diversity, Work Experience, PI and WAT.

IIM Bodh Gaya offers 2-year PGP-PGDM program which is a full-time residential course. The course structure consists of the core curriculum, a summer internship and elective courses (optional).

IIM Bodh Gaya Admission Criteria

The IIM Bodh Gaya Admission Criteria 2018 will be conducted in 3 phases:

  1. CAT 2018 Percentile
  2. Written ability test and Personal Interview.
  3. Final Merit List

After the declaration of the result of WAT and PI, a merit list will be declared taking into consideration the overall profile of the candidate.

IIM Bodh Gaya Admission Criteria: Shortlisting for PI and WAT

Candidates need to score a minimum required percentage in CAT to get further eligible for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) which is given below. They must also clear the sectional cut off. 

For shortlisting candidates for WAT/PI rounds, IIM Bodhgaya will consider only the CAT performance of a candidate. This goes on to show that performing well in CAT 2018 would go a long way in securing a WATGD/PI call from this premier B-school.

NOTE- The actual section-wise and overall percentile of a shortlisted candidate may be much higher than the above-mentioned minimum percentile.

IIM Bodh Gaya Admission Criteria for Final Selection

A candidate’s final score for selection at IIM Bodh Gaya is calculated on the basis of weights given to the following factors:

  • CAT Score 2018- 15
  • Personal Interview (PI)- 15
  • Writing Ability Test (WAT)- 05
  • Class X marks- 05
  • Class XII marks- 05
  • Gender Diversity- 01
  • Academic Diversity- If bachelor’s degree from the list mentioned below then 1 else 0
  • Work Experience- 03

Distribution of Points

  1. On the basis of Class 10 and 12 marks-

The points which will be allotted to the candidate based on the aggregate score of Class 10 and Class 12 percentages of marks of the candidates are as per the table is given below.

2. On the basis of Work Experience-

Work experience is an experience that a person gains while working in a specific field or occupation. Maximum of Six points will be awarded depending on the length of service as on July 31, 2018 to the candidates.

NOTE- Only managerial work experience after graduation will be considered. Training/Project work/work done as an integral part of the curricular requirement will not be considered.

A candidate’s final score for selection for the batch 2019-21 is calculated on the basis of following criteria:

A = Candidate’s Total CAT 2018

B = Maximum CAT Score

C = Points awarded for Class Xth marks Score

* ADFB: Academic Diversity Factor at Bachelor Degree level means candidates who hold bachelor degree as under ADFB list will get 3 points and those candidates who do not have one will get 0 points. The courses under ADFB list are:

  • BA/ BA (Hons.)
  • B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons.)
  • BS
  • B.Com/ B.Com (Hons.)
  • BCA
  • BBA
  • B. Pharm
  • LL.B
  • MBBS/BDS or any other non-engineering bachelor degree

In the selection process, the total weightage for parameters which are controllable ( CAT, WAT, and PI ) in the final selection stage has been kept at 70%. This means that the applicants, who do not have a good academic profile or work experience can still aspire to join IIM Bodh Gaya by performing well in CAT 2018, WAT and PI rounds.

Criteria for Final Selection for PGP

The final selection list will be based rigidly on merit in each category. The minimum qualification on the above-mentioned criteria would not automatically qualify the candidate for admission into IIM Bodh Gaya.

Reservation Policy

IIM Bodh Gaya has the same policies which are applied by Central Educational Institutions (CEIs) for reservation for admission in IIM Bodh Gaya. Any dispute concerning Admissions for the PGP Batch 2019-21 would be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts within the territorial jurisdiction of the city of Bodh Gaya only.
