IIM Ranchi CAT Cutoff 2019

IIM Ranchi has managed to make a mark in the market, despite being one of the new IIMs. The legacy IIM Ranchi entails from its predecessors, makes it a preferred choice for admission to its flagship two-year PGDM in General Management and full-time two-year programme in Human Resources Management (PGDHRM).

IIM Ranchi Admission 2019 for CAT qualifiers has released. The last date to apply is February 26, 2020. The application fee is INR 1000 for general category candidates and INR 500 for reserved category candidates.

  • The overall CAT cut off for PGDM and PGDHRM for a general category student is 90 percentile.
  • 30% weightage is assigned to CAT for candidates who are eligible for WAT and PI.
  • Scores of GATE, GRE, GMAT and JRF (UGC/CSIR) are also accepted.
  • The first merit list containing names of shortlisted candidates for GD/PI will be released in March 2020. Check CAT Result
  • Apart from GD/PI and WAT, past academic record and work experience will also be considered.
  • CAT counselling will be held for candidates who qualify all the selection rounds from May 2020 onwards, based upon the Consolidated Merit List (CML).

IIM Ranchi Application Process 2019

To apply for PGDM course, follow the below steps:

  1. Visit the official website of IIM Ranchi i.e. iimranchi.ac.in
  2. Download pdf version of IIM Ranchi application form
  3. Fill-in all your personal and academic details
  4. Pay application fee as per your category through Demand draft or Payment/Transaction
  5. Enclose your academic documents, age proof, relevant score cards, experience certificates including mark sheets and certificates of all public examinations in one envelope
  6. Send the filled for to:

IIM Ranchi CAT Cutoff 2019

IIM Ranchi shortlists candidates eligible for WAT/PI process for admission to PGDM/PGDHRM program. The list will be prepared on the basis of performance in CAT and will be announced by the Institute around March 2020.

The overall CAT cut off percentile as well as sectional cut off scores for admission to IIM Ranchi for 2018 is given below:

NOTE:

  1. Every aspirant deemed eligible as per the above table may or may not find a place in the shortlist list. 
  2. The cut off percentile scores are just indicative and actual CAT percentile cut off is expected to be close to the cut off for the previous years. Check CAT Previous year cut off analysis
  3. A combined shortlist will be prepared in which the names of all selected students of 9 new IIMs will be enlisted for further processing.
  4. Separate lists will be prepared for different categories and ranks will be assigned to aspirants as per merit.

IIM Ranchi Selection Stages

  • The selection rounds of IIM Ranchi (PI and WAT) will be conducted on the same day at 5 different centers- Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai.
  • They will be organized by IIM Rohtak and the dates for the same will be announced on the official website of the institutes.
  • Aspirants will have to write an essay on the topic given by the organizing institute within a duration of about 30 minutes.
  • Topics provided will assess the creative thinking ability and socio-political awareness of the individual.
  • Students may also be given the topics to write about economic and business affairs or sports for WAT. Read  CAT GD/WAT and PI Experiences

IIM Ranchi Previous Year Final Merit List

Final admission offered will be announced on the basis of a merit list after the PI and WAT process have been conducted. A Consolidated Merit List (CML) will consider scores obtained in both stages along with an applicant’s educational background.

It will be compiled on the basis of the following components with their corresponding weightage:

CAT Selection Process as indicated in the above table are stated below:

CAT Percentile

The CAT score of students who are eligible for PI and WAT process will be assigned a weightage of 30%.

PI & WAT Score

The scores of eligible candidates of the 9 new IIMs for PI & WAT process will be directly collected from IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow and IIM Kozhikode. The rest of the aspirants will have to appear for the common personal interview and written ability test of the new IIMs only.

Profile

This includes evaluation of the past academic records, work experience and diversity factor (both academic and gender). It will be given 30 points further divided into 4 elements. For this, students will have to fill an online profile form and bring a verification of the same at the time of personal interview.

The elements of profile scoring are given the aforementioned weightage on the following basis:

  • Academic Profile (15 Marks)- Candidates should secure a minimum of 65% so as to obtain points in this element. The entire educational background of aspirants- from school to graduation will be examined.

  • Work experience (5 Marks)- The organizing body will also take into account an applicant’s quality of work and experience. They must have worked for a minimum period of 11 months to secure any points in this feature.

  • Diversity Factor- It is of 2 types namely, Gender and Academic diversity. Academic diversity factor ensures diversity in academic streams and marks are allotted only if aspirants do not have an engineering degree.

Gender diversity factor is used only for preparing the pre- PI rank list to make sure that there is a proper proportion of male and female individuals. This is done by awarding female applicants a certain percentage of marks. For admission to IIM Ranchi, gender diversity factor carries 5 marks.
