TAPMI CAT 2018 Selection Process

T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal is counted among the top 5 B-schools in India and is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The Post Graduate Diploma Programs in Management offered by TAPMI is AICTE approved and the selection process for admission into these courses involves entrance tests like CAT/XAT/GMAT, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview.

Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process

The eligibility criteria and the selection process for TAPMI are presented in the table below:

NRI Candidates should fulfill any of the following conditions, in addition to the general eligibility criteria:

  • Completed qualifying exam within last 3 years  
  • At least one parent as an NRI at the time of application
  • Sponsored by an NRI blood relative.

TAPMI shortlists its applicants by considering their overall profile, including overall academic records, work experience, entrance exam score, extracurricular achievements, and Statement of Purpose. Please note that work experience of less than 12-months’ is not considered.

Shortlisted candidates are invited to appear for:

  • Written Aptitude Test (WAT) – applicants are scored on their vocabulary, grammatical skills, and articulation.
  • Group Discussion (GD) – applicants are required to discuss a current affairs topic in a small group and are adjudged on the grounds of communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Personal Interview (PI) – in a behavioral personal interview, applicants are evaluated on the basis of Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Leadership, and Communication.

TAPMI makes its final selection for admission by attributing specific weightage on entrance exam overall percentile as well as verbal ability percentile, academic records, work experience, and WAT/GD/PI scores. Weightage assigned to each component is presented below:
