MAT Feb 2017 Online Exam Paper Analysis

MAT Feb 2017 online exam held on February 11, 2017, in 3 shifts. Candidates found that the difficulty level of the exam was moderate. It is expected that MAT result may report high percentile at lower than earlier scaled score. The 200 questions had to be answered in 150 minutes. Candidates were struggling for time management to maximize their attempts.

A few questions on Indian & Global Environment also turned to be a little trickier and time-consuming. The same level of difficulty was reported in MAT December 2016 exam. However, the Data Analysis & Sufficiency section was a bit tricky with few surprise questions in MAT Feb 2017.

MAT Exam Pattern hasn’t undergone any significant changes as compared to previous year. Each section in MAT Feb Online Paper 2017 had 40 questions. MAT Feb Online Exam 2017: Language Comprehension

Language Comprehension section had questions from Reading Comprehension. In total there were 4 RC passages, having 5 questions each. Other than that, 3 questions were asked from Antonyms, FIB and Odd Word Out.

Questions asked on antonyms and odd word was in jumbled form. This made questions a little time-consuming. In Grammar Section, there were 3 questions on Sentence Correction. Overall, the difficulty level was of easy to moderate level.

Intelligence & Critical Reasoning covered almost all the topics of Reasoning. This section was comparatively lengthy but easy. Analytical and Logical Reasoning dominated the section with a high number of questions. Apart from it, questions were based on blood relation, analogies, direction, series and statements.

Data Interpretation dominated this section by covering 50% of the questions based on pie charts, bar diagrams, charts and line graph. Most of the questions in this section comprised Arithmetic, Percentages, Time & Work, Average, Percentage and Profit & Loss. The difficulty level of Mathematical Skills is reported moderate to easy. Rather than the above-mentioned topics, questions were also asked on Venn Diagrams, Ratio & Proportion and Variation, Geometry & Mensuration, Permutation and Combinations & Probability. The average duration of Indian and Global Environment section was 15 minutes. The questions covered current affairs, Indian and world economics. However, this section is qualifying in nature and is not considered for preparing the MAT merit list of the qualified candidates. Candidates could answer this section well within the time limit.
