NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
MAT Exam is scheduled for September 2, 2018 in offline mode while online exam will begin from September 15, 2018. The test consists of five sections, namely Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, and Indian and Global Environment.

MAT is around the corner, so for the convenience of the appearing candidates, we are providing some useful preparation tips along with MAT practice papers.
The syllabus for Indian and Global Environment in MAT exam contains questions from a variety of topics, like Economics, Finance, National and International current affairs, conventional GK, etc. The GK questions asked in MAT are tricky and require intensive reading. The Indian and Global Environment section contains questions from general and current awareness topics and events about a year old would be most expected to be faced in this area. Business, politics, sports, awards and distinctions, books, anything could be a part of this section. Students who have had a decent reading habit in the past one year or so of their MBA entrance examination preparations, would not find too much of difficulty in attempting questions from this section.
Like the other sections, this section also has 40 question of 1 mark each. 15 minutes should be the standard time that a candidate must spend on this section. Some helpful tips to prepare for this section are:
According to experts, a net score of 65 and above (excluding the score in GK) is considered to be a good score. It is important for students to know the weightage and difficulty of each section of MAT to plan their preparation in the most effective manner.
In MAT May 2018, questions from important events and developments in the field of sports, tournaments, advertisements, politics, history, etc. were covered in Indian and Global Environment section. International Affairs and Business Awareness too had a part in the question paper. Approximately 17-22 minutes were dedicated to attempt this section.
There are a plethora of books easily available to any candidate for the preparation for MAT. It is, therefore, important for the candidate to choose carefully his/her reading material as it is inadvisable to read too many books rather than focusing on handpicked books. The cut off for MAT is released by All India Management Association (AIMA) once the result of MAT is released. The result is expected to be released in the last week of September 2018, after which each individual institution accepting admission based on MAT score will release their cut off list.
Candidates should note that AIMA and other participating institutions keep the cut off similar to what it was the year before. Hence, the cut off can be expected to be from 400 to 600 (out of a total of 800). Candidates should note that although the exam is of 200 marks, the candidates get a scaled score out of 800.
