NMAT 2019 or Narsee Monjee Institute Management Admission Test is a national-level entrance exam conducted by NMAC every year. NMAT is accepted as an admission criterion by several top business schools in India like SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad), Xavier University (Bhubaneswar), ICFAI Business School (Hyderabad), and Alliance University (Bangalore), VIT University and others such.

  • NMAT 2019 is tentatively scheduled to be held in October- December and Registration for the same will begin in July 2019.
  • Applicants not more than 25 years of age and possessing a full-time graduation degree with minimum aggregate score of 50% are eligible to apply for NMAT 2019.

  • Each correct answer carries a score of 3 marks and there is no provision for negative marking.

NMAT exam comprises a 3-step selection process, viz. the computer-based test, Case Discussion and Personal Interview. The final merit list of NMAT is drawn on the basis of applicants’ academic performance, work experience, NMAT scores, performance in Case Discussion and Personal Interview, based on which participating institutes shortlist candidates for admission.

NMAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria

All the aspirants for NMAT 2019 must fulfil the basic eligibility norms and the same have been mentioned below. Candidates not meeting the below-mentioned conditions are liable to be disqualified.

  • Applicants should be less than 25 years of age.
  • They must have completed full-time Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
  • Minimum aggregate score of 50% in qualifying examination in the 1st attempt is necessary.
  • Candidates appearing in the final examination of the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.
  • International candidates with more than 2 years of post-qualification experience will be preferred.
  • Admission of International candidates is subject to their visa clearance.

Applicants should make sure that they fully comprehend and satisfy the eligibility criteria of all business schools that he/she is interested to apply prior to registering for NMAT 2019. For the eligibility requirements of different Business schools, applicants are advised to check the respective websites for complete details.

NMAT 2019 Application Form

Candidates can fill NMAT Application Form 2019 online on the official website, i.e. from July 2019 till October 2019. The steps involved in the process are listed below.

  1. Using an active email ID, register on
  2. Provide personal details including contact information, academic details, and work experience (if any).
  3. Please note that the applicant’s name and DOB entered in the NMAT Application form should match with that in the supporting academic certificates.
  4. Applicants can choose up to 5 schools to send their NMAT scores to under the "Schools Preference" section.
  5. Upload applicants’ recent passport-size Photograph and specimen signature to the NMAT application form.
  6. Complete the fee payment process via the integrated payment gateway.
  7. Upon successful completion of transaction, the ‘Schedule Exam’ option will be activated in applicant’s login.
  8. Select preferred test date and time and download the admit card that is generated on-screen

Important points to be considered:

  • Applicants are allowed to take NMAT a maximum of 3-times during a year’s testing schedule, subject to payment of requisite fees for each attempt.
  • Applicants are also allowed to reschedule the original test date and time, subject to payment of additional fees for the privilege.

NMAT 2019 Application Fee

NMAT 2019 Application Fee is the same for all candidates, regardless of their reservation status. Payment is accepted through the integrated payment gateway on the official website via Debit/Credit Cards, Net Banking, UPI and Mobile Wallets. Payments for Retake and Rescheduling of Exams is accepted only through Credit Card. Application Fee for NMAT for different processes has been tabulated below.

Applicants should note that their registration fee will be forfeited in instances of multiple registrations, voluntary cancellation of registration/scheduled test, non-scheduling of test, non-appearance for scheduled test etc.

NMAT 2019 Exam Scheduling

Upon successful completion of registration and application fee payment, candidates can schedule their tests through the ‘Schedule Exam’ link in the candidate dashboard on the official website. The applicants have the liberty to choose the date, time slot as well as preferred test location.

However, allotment is subject to availability of the preferred date/time/location. The website offers candidates the facility to check the availability of seats at the test center on real-time basis. Within 24 hours of test scheduling, a confirmatory e-mail specifying the test center details will be received by candidates. Non-receipt of the confirmatory email should be reported to the NMAT Helpdesk immediately.

​​​​​​​NMAT 2019 Admit Card

Candidates who successfully schedule their NMAT date and time can download their NMAT 2019 Admit Card, tentatively from September 2019 onwards. The Admit card will be available for download from the applicant’s log-in.

NMAT 2019 Admit Card is a mandatory document that candidates need to carry in person to appear for the test. It will showcase candidate’s personal details and as well as exam center details along with the candidates’ photograph and specimen signature.

Non-receipt of NMAT 2019 Admit Card should be immediately reported at the NMAT helpdesk.

NMAT 2019 Admit Card can be downloaded by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of NMAT, i.e.
  2. Click on the tab to download NMAT Admit Card.
  3. Enter login credentials in the space provided
  4. The NMAT 2019 Admit Card will be displayed on-screen.
  5. Check details on the document and obtain prints for further use.

NMAT 2019 Exam Pattern

NMAT 2019 is a computer-based exam administering a randomly generated test from question bank with one question-at-a-time. It comprises three individually-timed sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.

Candidates can choose which section to answer first; however, shuffling between sections is not allowed. Candidates must answer questions and review the answers in each section within the time allotted. There are a total of 120 questions to be completed in 120 minutes.

NMAT 2019 Result

Candidates can access scaled individual test scores in the candidate’s dashboard of the official website, within 4-5 weeks of taking NMAT. Percentile scores are uploaded on the website after the entire test schedule is over, in January 2020.

Candidates will receive information via email on availability of their test scores. The scorecard need to be downloaded from the official website. NMAT score card will contain the following details:

  • Section-wise Scaled Score as secured by candidate
  • Total Score of Candidate
  • A percentile ranking

NMAT 2019 Cut Off

All NMAT Participating Colleges will be declaring their individual cut-off scores. The Final Percentile Scores and Ranking of NMAT forms the basis of the cut-off scores of the participating Business Schools.

Cut-Off Score refers to the least percentile that is required to be considered for admission. Candidates who meet the Cut-Off Score of Specific Business Schools and fulfil other eligibility criteria as well, will be offered admission.

NMAT 2019 Selection Procedure

Different Business Schools differ in their method of shortlisting candidates for admissions, the details of which are mentioned on their respective websites. Applicants are advised to browse through the websites of their preferred institutes where they are applying through NMAT for further details on their Admission process. NMAT Participating Institutes, in general will shortlist candidates on the basis of their NMAT scores and performance in Case Discussion and Personal interview.

  • Candidates that meet the cut off score of the Business School applied for will be invited for further selection process.
  • Admission decision is dependent on candidate’s academic qualification, work experience (if any), NMAT score, performance in Case discussion and Personal Interview.
  • Most Business Schools conduct the Selection Process at their campuses, though a few institutes are known take the process out-of-campus to major locations, for the convenience of applicants.
  • Case Discussion and Personal Interview are meant to evaluate candidate’s knowledge of the diverse topics, confidence level, ability to perform under pressure, etc.
  • Case discussion is basically group discussion where the candidates are asked to discuss a case in a group for 15-20 minutes.
  • Shortlisted candidates from the Case Discussion round proceeds for a personal interview.
