OJEE 2019 NEWS
STATE LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
Anokr Kumar appeared for OJEE in 2013 and scored a very good percentile of 97%. He was offered admission from many colleges, but finally took admission in Krupajal engineering college. Anokr shares his success story with us in this interview. He tell us how difficult and tiring the preparation process is. He also advises the appearing and aspiring candidates to keep up with their preparation and enjoy it.
Ans. Krupajal engineering college.
Ans. Yes, I took coaching classes in Resonance, Kota and this helped me a lot in cracking the exam. They prepare you in such a way that it looked very familiar when you actually see the question paper. Their teaching methodology is quite brilliant. They make you grasp the content, context as well the basics. I really miss those coaching days, those days really meant STUDY days. Yeah, I didn’t make into a great college but I'm quite confident with what they taught me. Coaching not only helps you to get into a good college but what teaches, get stuck to your nerves and help one in later days also.

Ans. I managed it quite well, OJEE held after the boards so I got a bit extra time for preparing the entrance. My Boards syllabus was already done and I just managed to revise the notes of my coaching classes. Preparing for boards along with a number of life changing entrance exams was very tough but I guess I managed to do par with this.
Ans. I had a very tough hand with organic chemistry, I spent days and nights just to grasp the basics but it didn’t worked fine. I bought Cengage publication books for the same and with rigorous efforts I managed to improve my basics. Along with that Inverse trigonometry was a bit on tougher side for me. I applied same efforts for this subject and managed to get some fine corners in this subject, meanwhile my other subjects like physics, inorganic and physical chemistry and Maths was on my stronger side.
Physical chemistry helped me a lot to crack a number of exams I appeared for, this was my strongest areas.

Ans. No, I didn’t take any mock paper or any other test series other than my own coaching test papers. It had weekly assessment exams and monthly exams as well. And as the exams were on a regular interval so we had to work hard to meet the syllabus for the same and it slowly covered all our course syllabus and this was the best part of it, this regular exam also helped in preparing for our board exams. So I only appeared for resonance test and it helped the most.

Ans. 4 months, I guess it’s very late to start this vast syllabus for such life changing entrances, but yes it's never too late. Every person has some of its high and low, so don't run behind your lows, run for your highs i.e. the strong area of your subject because if you start with your weakest subject then you have to cross 0, 1, 2 in order to reach 10, and if you take your strong subject then you must have some progress i.e. you must had crossed 2, 3, 4 or may be 6 and you are left with just to complete the syllabus of yours strongest subject. Once you are done with the favorable subject then go to the weakest one to start that. As you don’t have much time to deal with this problem so, I guess this is the best way to par the exam.

Ans. Chemistry, my all-time favorite except the organic part, I enjoyed chemistry lectures and I practiced it daily. I really struggled for the Organic part but however I dealt with that. NCERT chemistry is good enough but if you really need to prepare then O.P Tondon and P Bahadur, these are some of the best books, I was recommended for these books by my faculty during coaching. If you love numericals then must solve P Bahadur, it's very conceptual.
Ans. Physics is full of formulae, theories and explanations and most horrible part is that you have to remember that all the time because in entrance exams questions aren’t asked from a single chapter, they just ask one question having context from 2 or 3 chapters or topics, like they merge friction with gravity and electrostatic. So one must be revising and reciting the formulae all the time to get a better score in this very subject. H.C Verma, both parts are the gateway to physics. Physics can’t be read without this book, it's the ABC book of Physics, and it needs to be completed for sure. For tougher problems I.E Irodov I the all-time best and I followed these too.

Ans. If this so then I must have avoided OJEE and appeared for WBUT as the date clashed for WBUT and MPPET. And I was not left with any other option, it's just the saying thing. If I can return to my time back then I must have secured 85%+ marks in boards because only due to that I didn’t made into a good college, one of the cons of coaching, you can’t bear good marks in boards because you always prepare for the entrance and very less time for the boards.
