AILET 2017: NLU releases Exam Dates, Registrations begin from Jan 2017

AILET, or the All India Law Entrance Test, is organized by the National Law University (NLU) each year. It is a national level exam, conducted to admit students to various UG & PG law courses that are offered by the National Law University, Delhi and its affiliated institutions. Nearly 12,000 students appear for the AILET Exam each year. The AILET 2017 Registration will commence in January 2017.

The AILET 2017 Exam is conducted for courses such as B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M, Ph.D. Programmes and other PG Diploma courses. AILET 2017 Exam Dates

The official notification regarding the AILET 2017 Exam Date will be available in December 2016. The AILET  Online Application form will be initiated from the first week of January 2017. The AILET 2017 important dates are mentioned below:

AILET 2017 Application Form

Candidates can begin filling the AILET 2017 Application Forms from the first week of January, 2017. They shall be available till the first week of April, 2017. Candidates must fill the AILET Application Form 2017 online, at NLU’s official website.

The AILET Registration will be carried out at the NLU Delhi Official website. NLU Delhi invites applications from all the aspiring candidates within the AILET Registration window. No applications will be accepted post the closure of AILET Registration Window.

Steps to fill the AILET 2017 Application Form

The AILET registration will be carried out at the NLU Delhi official website. Candidates are required to enter basic educational and personal information about themselves. Mentioned steps should be followed during AILET Registration. Reference should be taken from the mentioned.
  1. Before filling the AILET Form 2017, candidates must register themselves at the NLU Delhi’s Official Website.
  2. Choose college and click on ‘Click here to Apply’ button.
  3. Choose your course
  4. Fill in your personal, educational and other details
  5. Upload your scanned photograph and signature images
  6. Payment of AILET 2017 Application Fee
  7. Complete other fields and save them
  8. Take a print for further use

AILET 2017 Application Fee

Refer to the below points to know about the AILET 2017 Application Fee:

  • The application fee will be INR 3000/- (for general candidates) and INR 1000/- (for SC/ST and Persons with Disability (PD) candidates).
  • The fee payment will be done through offline mode (cash deposit at post office) and online mode (Credit Cards/Debit Cards and Net banking).
  • There is no need to send the printed application confirmation page to the university.

AILET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the AILET Exam, must fulfill the below mentioned AILET Exam Eligibility Criteria. This has been prescribed by the NLU, Delhi.

  • For B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) course, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with securing minimum 50% aggregate.
  • The candidates must be below 21 years as on 1 July, 2017 (23 years in case of SC/ST category) for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) programme.
  • For LL.M. (One year) programme & PG Diploma programme, aspirants should have completed LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with securing 55% marks (for general candidates) and 50% marks (for SC, ST or PwD candidates).
  • For Ph.D programme, candidates must have a LL.M. Degree or equivalent with scoring minimum 55% marks for general candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  • Candidates appearing in qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

AILET 2017 Admit Card

According to the latest notification, the AILET Admit Card shall be released in the third week of April, 2017. The AILET 2017 Admit Cards can be downloaded from the official website of NLU. An admit card contains all your important details, such as your name, roll no., exam centre, registration no., exam date and time.

It is mandatary for students to carry their admit cards at the time of AILET 2017 Exam. If they fail to present the same, they shall not be allowed to sit for the exam.

AILET 2017 Result

Candidates who appeared for the AILET 2017 Exam will very anxiously wait for the AILET Result 2017. The AILET Results 2017 shall be declared on NLU Delhi Official Website i.e. The result is scheduled to be declared in the month of June, 2017.

The AILET 2017 question booklets and their AILET Answer Key will be released on the website. Candidates can calculate their AILET Scores 2017 through the same. On the basis of marks scored in AILET exam, AILET Cutoff will be prepared separately for all the categories.

Candidates who want to apply for copy of AILET OMR Sheet may send a DD of Rs.1000/- drawn in the favor of Registrar National Law University Delhi.

AILET 2017 Admission Process

The admission to the different courses of NLU, Delhi, will be based on the AILET Rank 2017 of the candidate in the AILET 2017 Merit List. The details of AILET Admission Process 2017 for different courses is given below:

  • For Ph.D & M.Phil. programme, candidates who have cleared the UGC NET/JRF, SLET, will be exempted for taking the AILET 2017 admission test.
  • For admission in Ph.D programme, candidates have to clear the entrance exam after candidates have to make an oral presentation before the doctoral committee.
  • For B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) course, admission in 70 seats will be done through AILET merit list and 10 seats are reserved for direct admission to Foreign Nationals.
