AILET or All India Law Entrance Test is conducted annually by National Law University or NLU, New Delhi for candidates seeking admission to its BA LLB (Hons), LLM and Ph.D. programmes. The exam is held on the 1st Sunday in May every year, the notification for which will release by NLU, New Delhi in January 2019. The salient features of AILET 2019 are:

  • AILET 2019 Application Form is expected to be available on the official website in January 2019.
  • AILET 2019 exam is scheduled to take place on the first Sunday of May 2019.
  • Registration for AILET 2019 will be in online mode, however, the exam will be an offline, paper-based test. Check AILET Exam Pattern
  • The entrance exam is conducted in 21 cities across India.
  • The reservation criteria are different for both LLB and LLM programs.
  • Results for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs will release separately.
  • AILET 2019 Cut Off scores will differ for each candidate category.
  • AILET Scores are accepted only by NLU, New Delhi.

AILET 2019 Important Dates

NLU Delhi will be releasing the dates for AILET 2019 on the official website in due course. Though the official notification for the entrance test has not been released yet, however, based on past trends, a tentative timeline for the events involved in AILET 2019 has been tabulated below.

AILET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility conditions for AILET 2019 differs for different programs. Applicants are advised to carefully study the conditions specified by NLU Delhi before starting the application process.

AILET 2019 Application Form

AILET 2019 Registration is an online process and the forms for the same are expected to be available on the official website from January 2019 onwards. The steps involved in AILET 2019 Application Process are mentioned below.

Step I: Visit AILET 2019 official website, i.e.

Step II: Click the ‘Apply Online’ link.

Step III: Register with the required details – Applicant’s Name, Name of Father/Guardian, DOB, Contact number, Email ID, and Address. Applicants need to provide a valid email ID in their AILET 2019 application form as the registration confirmation will be sent to the registered email address.

Step IV: Upon clicking the Registration tab, applicants will be redirected to Application Locker page where the details provided have to be reconfirmed.

Step V: Select NLU Delhi from the list of NLUs and select the desired Program from the drop-down menu.

Step VI: Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button and AILET 2019 Application Form will appear on the screen.

Step VII: Enter all details as required by the application form.

Step VIII: Upload a scanned image of applicant’s recent passport-size photograph as well as specimen signature in .jpg or .gif formats not exceeding 150 KB in individual file size.

Step IX: Preview the form, click “Save” and proceed to Fee Payment.

Step X: The application fee can be paid online through the integrated payment gateway using either Net Banking or Credit/Debit Cards.

Step XI: Once the fee payment process is complete, obtain prints of the filled-in application form.

AILET 2019 Admit Card

NLU Delhi will release AILET 2019 Admit Card on the official website in April 2019. Please note that candidates will have to download the Admit Card from the website and NLU Delhi will not dispatch the document via post or email or any other means. The steps involved in downloading AILET 2019 Hall Ticket are mentioned below:

Step I: Visit the official website of AILET, i.e.

Step II: Enter Applicant’s name and DOB or AILET 2019 Application Number.

Step III: AILET 2019 Admit Card will be displayed on-screen

Step IV: Download, save and obtain prints of the Admit Card for future reference.

AILET 2019 Exam Centers

  • AILET is held in several cities across India.
  • Applicants can, during the application process, select up to three locations, in order of preference, as their choice of exam center.
  • The allocation of exam center is done by NLU Delhi on the basis of candidate’s preference. NLU Delhi’s decision in this regard is final and binding on all.
  • The details of the exam center allotted will be printed on AILET 2019 Admit Card.

AILET 2019 Exam Pattern

AILET 2019 will be a paper-based test delivered in English. The exam pattern will be defined by the conducting body, NLU Delhi. Based on past trends, the pattern differs for each BA LLB, LLM and Ph.D. Programs. The exam pattern for each program is elaborated below:

AILET 2019 Result

AILET 2019 Result will be announced on the official website of NLU Delhi on separate dates for BA LLB, LLM and Ph.D. program. The results will be available only in the online mode in PDF format and candidates need to login to the website and download the same.

NLU D will be releasing the results separately for different categories. AILET 2019 Merit List will also be released along with the results. The tentative schedule for the program-wise declaration of AILET 2019 Result is tabulated below.

Candidates can access AILET 2019 Results in these simple steps:

  • Download, save and obtain prints of the Result for future reference

All qualifying candidates will be receiving their respective AILET 2019 Scorecard from NLU Delhi. The Scorecard will have the candidate’s name, roll number, total score secured in AILET 2019 vis-à-vis score in each section of the entrance test. Candidates appearing for AILET 2019 Counselling will have to carry their AILET 2019 Score Card in person.

AILET 2019 Cut Off

AILET 2019 Cut off Score forms the basis of selection of candidates for admission into the law programs at NLU Delhi. NLU Delhi defines the following scores as mandatory to be secured by candidates in AILET for being considered for admission, in case of BA LLB and for submission of Research Proposal in case of Ph.D. Candidates who secure the desired cut-off will be entitled to receive the admission letter

In case 2 or more candidates secure the same percentage of marks in AILET 2019, their merit will be determined on the basis of the following conditions, in order of appearance:

  • Percentage of marks in the 10+2 examination
  • Percentage of marks secured in 10th standard
  • Candidates older in age shall get preference.

AILET 2019 Counselling

  • AILET 2019 Counselling will be conducted in the offline mode by NLU Delhi once the admission procedure of the 1st Merit List candidates is over.
  • 1st Merit List candidates need to remit the admission fee for the selected program to the NLU admission office within the specified deadline. Failure to do so will lead to cancellation of the offer for admission.
  • Spot Counselling will be organized for shortlisted candidates on-campus to fill seats left vacant after the 1st round of admission process.

Candidates need to carry the following documents for the counselling and subsequent admission procedure at NLU Delhi.

  1. AILET 2019 admission call issued by NLU D.
  2. AILET 2019 Scorecard & Admit Card.
  3. Self-Attested copies of all academic certificates up to the qualifying exam.
  4. Self-Attested copy of Character Certificate from the school/college last attended.
  5. Self-Attested copy of Transfer Certificate.
  6. Demand Draft drawn in favor of “The Registrar, National Law University Delhi” payable at New Delhi, towards the payment of specified admission fee

AILET 2019 Seat Reservation

NLU Delhi has provision for reservation of seats in its programs based on categories of students. Apart from the specific reservation percentage in different categories, NLU Delhi also provides for 30% horizontal reservation for female candidates across all categories on the basis of merit.
