STATE LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
KMAT 2017, to be held in Last Week of May 2017, is the common entrance exam for MBA/PGDM Admissions 2017. It is a conventional Paper-Pencil Test conducted by KPPGCA (Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association), KMAT is the gateway to more than 150 + AICTE-approved University-affiliated B-schools in Bangalore and Karnataka. KMAT 2017 is an All India exam that will be held in more than 10 cities all across the country and is open to candidates from all parts of India and Abroad.
There are 2 patterns, KMAT for MBA/ PGDM and MCA. In the KMAT exam for MBA admissions, the sections are Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills and Basic Aptitude. For the MBA and MCA combined exam, the sections are Language Skills, Mathematical Skills, Basic Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. Apart from Logical Reasoning, the sections are same in both the types of the exams. Hence the KMAT 2017 Syllabus will be the same for both types of exams.
KMAT question paper will be designed with 120 questions and each carry 1 mark. The duration period for the entrance test will 120 minutes (2 hours). The KMATv= entrance test will conduct separately for each course.

English language ability would be tested through questions on Grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension of passages etc. There would be questions on understanding of the contents of the passages and choice of appropriate words, phrases, expressions and similar language skills. This will include the passages with questions based on their contents to test comprehension. This section is mainly used to test the vocabulary of the student and the general ability to understand English. This section of the paper has maximum scope for further enhancement. It includes-
This division of the question paper tests the ability of the candidate to determine the truth behind any Conclusion based on certain rules. Data are present in the form of tables, graphs and charts. This include questions to measure how quickly and accurately you can think. The section may have questions in sets as well individual ones based on Verbal Reasoning, analogy among others. The Logical Reasoning questions are asked on the common topics such as –
The questions in this section will be of matriculation standard. This include questions to know how fast and accurate you can work with numbers, do numerical calculations, understand various arithmetic problems involving ratio & proportion, percentage, interest, time & speed etc. Apart from Arithmetic, the questions may also be based on Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and parts of mathematics. This test also helps to measure your power of quantitative reasoning, interpretation of tables, common graphs & charts. This segment of the paper deals with reasonable form of aptitude problems. This slice basically tests the candidate's ability to deal with aptitude problems. It includes-
KMAT 2017 proposes to test the General Awareness of the candidates as is expected from an educated person living in the society. No specific syllabus can be defined for General Awareness However, it may contain questions on current and conventional General Knowledge on various issues past and present. This section can be described as General Knowledge section. Here questions are asked on basic Management and computer concepts. Most of the questions are static and few are dynamic as well. Candidates appearing for the exam must have complete knowledge about the syllabus and pattern. The exam will be conducted in paper-pencil mode, and is generally of moderate difficulty level. The exam paper consists only of MCQs.
The test structure is as follows:
KMAT 2017 is conducted in pen paper mode to intake students for MBA/PGDM/MCA to various B-Schools in Bangalore and Karnataka. KMAT 2017 Exam is of two hours (120 minutes). The total number of questions asked in KMAT (MBA/MCA/PGDM) 2017 is 120 divided among 4 sections viz. Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and General Science. There is no negative marking. Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer. No marks will be awarded/deducted for questions not attempted. Questions asked in KMAT 2017 is of moderate level and Secondary standard. Main aim of questions asked in KMAT 2017 Exam is to judge the candidates on the basis of their ability to solve problems quickly and correctly.
