B.Tech at Indian Naval Academy Kerala Through JEE Main 2019

Indian Navy is inviting application for unmarried male candidates for 4-years degree course under the 10+2 (B. Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme through JEE Main 2019. The applications have been invited for January 2020 program that will be conducted at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala in Kerala. Interested and eligible candidates can apply from June 2, 2019 to June 21, 2019 (tentative) on the official website i.e. www.joinindiannavy.gov.in

Applicants must score minimum 70% marks in class 12 to be eligible for admission to the program. Qualifiers will be shortlisted for Service Selection Board (SSB) interview on the basis of JEE Main 2019 AIR. After selection, candidates will undergo training for which cost will be borne by the academy.

About JEE Main 2019 (January Session):
JEE Main 2019 (January Session) is scheduled from January 6 to 20, 2019 through computer-based mode. Interested candidates can apply online at nta.ac.in OR jeemain.nic.in till September 30, 2018

JEE Main is a national level engineering entrance exam organized by NTA for admission to various branches of B.Tech program. The exam will be conducted twice a year (January and April) in online (computer based) mode. Candidates having bacjelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks are only eligible to apply. 


Indian Navy B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should have passed class 12 with minimum 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class 10 or Class 12).

Applicants born between 02 Jul 1999 to 01 Jan 2002 (both inclusive) are only eligible to apply. Obtain JEE Main AIR, call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) will be issued.

Following physical standards must be met for possible eligibility:

  1. Minimum height should be 157 cms and weight will be correlated as per age.
  2. Candidate should not be colour/night blind.
  3. The minimum acceptable vision standards for distant vision is 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses.

Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms and not on any other part of the body.

Indian Navy Selection Procedure on the basis of JEE Main 2019

Once the registration will close, applicants will be shortlisted for Service Selection Board (SSB) interview on the basis of JEE Main AIR (All India Rank). Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their SSB interview via E-mail or SMS as details provided by them in their application form.

The SSB interview is conducted in 2 stages i.e.

Stage I- group discussion, intelligence test, and picture perception test. 

Stage II- This test will last for four days and consists of psychological testing, group testing and interview. If candidates qualify stage II, they will undergo Medical Examination that lasts approx 03-05 days.

The training is scheduled to start in the month of January. The Indian Navy will bear the entire cost of training. Free clothing and mess service will also be provided to the cadets.


How to apply at Indian Naval Academy for B.Tech Admissions

Follow the below steps to apply at Indian Naval Academy for B.Tech Admissions:

  1. Visit the official website i.e. “www.joinindiannavy.gov.in”.
  2. Create a new account.
  3. Fill in the application form between June 5, 2019 and June 25, 2019 (tentatively).
  4. Following documents (preferably in original) should be scanned and uploaded in PDF form while filling up the application form.- DoB proof, Class 10 mark sheet, Class 12 mark sheet, JEE Main 2019 Scorecard, recent colour photograph.
  5. No request will be entertained for changes in uploaded documents after closing of online application.

Privileges and other benefits

Indian Navy provides mess/club/sports facilities (surfing, rafting etc.), free medical facilities for self & dependents, furnished Govt. accommodation, canteen facilities, car/housing loan at subsidised rates, entitled ration. There is also 40% rail concession and free travel for self and dependents.

Officer will be granted an insurance cover of Rs. 75 lakhs (on contribution). There are 20 casual leave and 60 annual leave every year. Leave during training period will be as per the Training Policy in force.

Is there any use of JEE marks in merit list in direct entry??

Hi Mahipal, Yes The college does require the JEE MAINS for the admission, and JEE MAINS refers to JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.

Hi Paras. The marksheet of 12th is mandatory To get eligible for the exam.

Hi Sangita, To know about B.Tech admission at Indian Naval Academy must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

1 Candidate must be born on 02 Jul 1998 & 01 Jan 2001 (both inclusive).
2 Candidate should have passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent examinations from any Board with minimum 70% aggregate marks in 3      Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).
4 Candidates should have appeared for JEE (Main) 2017 exam. On the basis of JEE (Main) 2017 All India Rank, call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) will be issued.

But the latest updates given above are 70 percent on class 12 is it or 70 percent in pcm?
