Ans. During IIT-JEE 2004, it was having preliminary and Mains. Preliminary was Offline with multiple choice questionnaire, while Main was subjective which was too Offline that time. The only difference was that Mains paper answers have to be provided in blank spaces given in question paper itself.

Ans. Class 12th and JEE courses and contents have much similarity. If you focus chapter wise preparation, it will cover for both 12th and JEE. Ans. My strongest subjects were Chemistry-Organic and Inorganic and Mathematics-Calculus. Weakest was Physics.
For preparation, I decided to continuously improve weak areas and keep revision of main strong areas. For special efforts, I attended crash course for my weaker areas and it has improved a lot. I was selected in preliminary, but could not make it for Mains.
Ans. I took mock examinations from coaching classes on bi weekly basis. They also provide mock papers as homework which can be try out at home and one can do self-examination and analysis. Apart from this, online mock papers are available especially previous years’ examination papers with answer key.

Ans. I could have focus more on improving weaker sections rather on solving things out on stronger areas (although it makes you motivated). It all depends on your hard work and intelligence (moreover common sense). Little bit of Luck is also important which can make huge differences in getting decent All India Rank and increase chances to get better college.
Ans. 4 months is less for preparation as it would easily take 15 months to make basic setup with advance study and revision as whole, while taking mockups and attending lectures. Even if you have decided to start lately I think Crash course is a good option as it goes with speed and less time which can still make you to prepare better,
