JEE MAIN 2020 NEWS
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
JEE JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has asked school education boards across the country to provide the top 20 percentile cut off for class XII exam results. The percentile cut off marks have to be submitted before June 10, 2017, so that the admission to IITs, NITs and other institutes are not delayed. This was decided at a meeting of the COBSE (Council of Boards of School Education) which includes all the school education boards and the CBSE.
JoSAA cannot start seat allocation process without class 12 scores as securing 75% marks or being in the top 20 percentile of a school is an essential qualification for securing seat in IITs and NITs.
COBSE has asked all the school education boards to furnish the top 20 percentile cut off, which is a qualifying mark for JEE Main exam. This information will be utilized in determining the JEE Main cut off.
The details will be published by CBSE and other school educational boards on the official website by 2nd week of May, 2017. JoSAA will hold the joint counselling session for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. Seat allotment process is likely to start from June 19, 2017.
IITs and other engineering institutes have informed COBSE that there may occur problems during the admission process if school boards delay in providing the percentile marks. JEE Main Counselling process is online and it will start from June 24, 2017. Post declaration of JEE Advanced Ranks, the counselling process will commence.
