JEE MAIN 2019 NEWS
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
JEE Main 2017 is scheduled for April 02, 2017. Candidates will have to appear for 3 papers – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Physics is usually considered the toughest section among the three sections. Some of the important chapters that candidates must focus upon include Mechanics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Optics & Waves, etc.
JEE Main is one of the most competitive entrance exam since all the NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and SFTIs accept JEE Main score for offering admission to B. Tech. program. Top 2,20,000 rank holders in JEE Main 2017 will be also shortlisted for JEE Advanced.
Previous year question papers and sample papers will help in preparing for the overall exam as well as individual sections. Candidates can actually assess the pattern of questions as well as get hands on practice in solving the questions. Candidates are also advised to go through some important reference books for better understanding of core concepts.
The detailed topic wise weightage and tips to prepare for JEE Main 2017 Physics Paper is mentioned below. Candidates can also check out some suggested reference books for Physics section.
The syllabus for JEE Main is based on the Class 11 and 12 curriculum. Therefore, candidates should refer the syllabus prescribed by their respective boards. However, the preparation strategy should concentrate on covering most important topics in a comprehensive manner to obtain maximum results.
In recent years, 25% questions are kept easy, 50% questions are of average level of complexity while the rest 25% are relatively high on difficulty level. Candidates can check the weightage of important topics from the table below.
|Topics in Physics||Weightage of Questions|
|Optics & Waves||20%|
|Heat & Thermodynamics||7%|
Kinematics and Particle Dynamics are two important subtopics from Mechanics. Waves Optics and Ray Optics are the two topics to cover in Optics, where students should practice Wave Optics first because it is smaller in size than Ray Optics.
Based on the analysis of last few years’ JEE Main question papers, candidates can check out the topic wise topic wise distribution of questions in Physics section.
