JEE Main 2019 April Notification Out

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the schedule for JEE Main 2019 April test at https://jeemain.nic.in. After the declaration of JEE Main 2019 results (January session), the notification was highly awaited by the aspirants. NTA released the official notification for the upcoming session on February 8, 2019.

JEE Main 2019 will be conducted from April 7 - 20, 2019. As per the recent notification, JEE Main Paper 1 will be conducted in two shifts in one day. However, Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan) will be held in 2 shifts in one day only.

JEE Main 2019 April Paper 1: (April 7 to April 20, 2019)   

  • 1st Shift (Morning Shift): 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift (Afternoon Shift): 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

JEE Main 2019 April Paper 2: (April 30, 2019)

  • 1st Shift (Morning Shift): 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift (Afternoon Shift): 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (If required)

JEE Main April 2019 Schedule

Candidates preparing for JEE Main 2019 (April session) must make themselves aware in regards to the date related to the examination cycle. For the reference to the candidates we have tabled the important dates related to the exam below:

Important note! Candidates are hereby made aware that the above-mentioned date and time schedule for JEE Main 2019 April exam is tentative in nature. That is the dates for the JEE Main April exam can be changed (if required) on the discretion of NTA. Hence, candidates are advised to visit the official website: https://nta.ac.in  of the examination authorities regularly for all the latest updates related to the exam.


JEE Main Exam Pattern

The pattern of the JEE Main 2019 exam will remain same for both the sessions. The exam will contain maximum 90 multiple choice questions based on the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics pattern of higher secondary standard (12th).

Applicants will be required to attempt the exam only in the online mode. The exam duration will be three hours. The exam will be a qualifier for JEE Advanced Exam. From the two chances given to the students this time, their best score will be considered for the counselling purposes.

JEE Main Exam Pattern Paper 1 

  • The exam would be held in online mode
  • The exam would comprise of three sections
  • Three sections are: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  • 30 MCQs would be asked from each section
  • In total 90 MCQs would be asked
  • Total time allotted would be 3 hours (180 minutes)
  • For the correct answer, 4 marks would be allotted
  • For the wrong answer, 1 mark would be deducted

JEE Main Exam Pattern Paper 2 

  • The exam would comprise of three parts
  •  The Three parts are: General Aptitude, Mathematics, and Drawing Skills
  • General Aptitude and Mathematics would contain objective type (MCQs) questions
  • 3O MCQs would be asked from Mathematics and 50 MCQs from General Aptitude Section
  • Test for General Aptitude and Mathematics would be in online mode
  • Drawing and sketching test would be conducted in pen and paper mode
  • Time allotted for the exam (all three parts) would be 3 Hours ( 180 Minutes)
  • For the correct answer, 4 marks would be allotted
  • For the wrong answer, 1 mark would be deducted

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must have qualified class 12th or equivalent in 2017/2018 or is to qualify the same in 2019
  • Candidate must be born on or after October 1, 1994
  • Candidate must have secured a minimum of 75% aggregate (relaxable for reserved category candidates) at class 12th or equivalent level (OR)
  • Candidate must be in top 20 percentile class 12th or equivalent
  • Candidate must have or have applied for Aadhar Card
  • Candidates form Assam, J&K and Meghalaya are exempted from Aadhar Card compulsion
