JEE Main 2019 January Schedule Released @nta.ac.in

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official schedule of JEE Main 2019 (January session). Earlier, the newly formed agency only released the registration, admit card and exam dates only. But, on August 31, the entire schedule for January session was published on nta.ac.in. With this, JEE Main 2019 portal (jeemain.nic.in) became live as well. 

Latest Update:-JEE Main 2019 Registration for April session will begin from February 8, 2019. Candidates can apply online at jeemain.nic.in. Last date of application is March 7. Apply Here

The registration for JEE Main January Session is done from September 1 to 30, 2018 through online mode at nta.ac.in. JEE Main 2019 will be conducted from January 6 to 20, 2019. As per the recent notification, JEE Main Paper 1 will be conducted in two shifts in one day. However, Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan) will be held in 2 shifts in one day only i.e. January 08, 2019. JEE Main Result will be declared on January 30, 2019 on the official website.

JEE Main Paper I (January 6 to 20, 2019)

The results of the JEE Main 2019 Session I will be declared on January 31, 2019. In case the candidates are not satisfied with their result of the first session, or if they could not appear in it due to any reason, they would be able to register for the second session of JEE Main 2019 from February 8 to March 7, 2019. Session II will be carried out in April 2019. In both the sessions, the exams will be carried out in eight sittings on separate days. Candidates will be able to choose the date of their preference for appearing in the exam during their JEE Main 2019 registration.

JEE Main 2019 Exam Pattern

The pattern of the JEE Main 2019 exam will remain same for both the sessions. The exam will contain maximum 90 multiple choice questions based on the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics pattern of higher secondary standard (12th).

Applicants will be required to attempt the exam only in the online mode. The exam duration will be three hours. JEE Main exam will be a qualifier for the JEE Advanced examination. From the two chances given to the students this time, their best score will be considered for the counselling purposes.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2019 Registration

Following is the main eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2019:

  • Candidates must have born on or after October 1, 1994.
  • They must have qualified in class 12th in 2017/2018 or appearing for the same in 2019.
  • Only those candidates who would score at least 75% marks in class 12th, will be eligible for appearing in JEE Main exam. For SC, ST, OBC and PWD candidates, this limit is relaxed to 65%. If they could not score those much of marks, they should be in top 20 percentile in their class 12th examinations.
  • It is mandatory for the applicants to fill the Aadhaar card number in the JEE Main Application Form. Please note that:
    • The students from Assam, Jammu & Kashmir and Meghalaya are excluded from this requirement. If they opt to get examination center in their states only, it is fine for them to provide with bank account number, ration card number, passport number or any other valid identity number issued by the government of India or state.
    • In case you do not have your Aadhaar card, you must apply for the same through one of the Aadhaar enrollment centers. The list of these enrollment centers in available at www.uidai.gov.in.
    • In case you have already applied for Aadhaar card and would not receive the same till the last date of JEE Main online application (September 30, 2018), you may provide the 14-digit Aadhaar Enrolment Id, including the slash “/” in the application form.

So, to wind up, the eligible candidates must submit their JEE Main 2019 – Session I online application form by the due date. Alongside, they should start their preparations with full zeal and target to secure a good ranking in the first session itself. Hi Subhasish, Admission is based on the college eligibility and there is the OBC Category relaxation in the admission percentage

Hi Divya, The National Testing Agency or NTA will release JEE Main Eligibility along with the official notification. As a basic condition, candidates appearing/ have passed class 12 with minimum 75% marks can appear for JEE Main 2019. From 2019 onwards, the engineering examination will be conducted twice a year in online (computer based) mode.
