NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
JEE Main 2020 will be conducted by NTA twice in the month of January and April for admissions into B.E, B.Tech and B.Arch offered by IIITs, NITs, GFTIs and SFTIs across India. It is held in two papers – Paper 1 is for B.Tech/B.E and Paper 2 is for B.Arch/B.Planning.
The application form for JEE Main 2020 will be made available only in online mode in the month of September 2019.

JEE Main 2020 will be conducted twice in the months of January and April, 2020. The official dates will be updated here once they are released by NTA. Meanwhile, candidates can take a look at the tentative schedule below:

Candidates willing to appear in JEE Main 2020 must check the eligibility criteria laid down by NTA. Candidature of ineligible candidates will be rejected without any notice. The eligibility criteria for the exam is as follows:

The application form will be filled and submitted in online mode only. Candidates must have an active email id and phone number in order to apply for the exam.
While filling the details in the application form, candidates have to upload the scanned copies of recent passport size photograph and signature.
Candidates can follow these five simple steps to fill the application form:
Step 1 – Registration
Candidates have to visit the JEE Main official website – jeemain.nic.in and click on “Apply for JEE Main 2020” button. The registration window will open and candidates will have to mention the following details:
Submit the details and note down the application number.
Step 2 – Filling the Application Form
After the registration is done, candidates will have to fill the application form by giving the following details:
|Candidate’s name||Includes the details of first name, middle name and last name.|
|Email id||A valid functional email id which can be used for further communication|
|Mobile number||A functional mobile number so that candidates can receive the notification on the phone regarding the exam and issue of admit card.|
|Age||Age has to be given in years and months eg: 24 years and 8 month|
|Date of birth||To verify the age, Date of Birth must be mentioned in the format of (DD/MM/YYYY)|
|Father’s name||Name of candidate’s father as printed in class 10 certificate|
|Mother’s name||Name of candidate’s mother as printed in class 10 certificate|
|Class 10 marks||Percentage marks obtained in class 10 and the year of passing class 10|
|Reservation details||Upload the certificate issued and registered with government bodies.|
|Address details||Details of street, city, district, pin code, country etc.|
|Selection of Paper||Candidate will have to choose paper 1/ paper 2 or both to appear.|
|Selections of Exam Cities||Candidates have to select any four cities of their choice in the order of preference.|
Click on ‘save’ button to move on to the third step.
Step 3 - Uploading of Scanned Documents
The third step involves upload of scanned photograph and signature. To do so, students have to click on “Upload Scanned Images” tab.

Step 4 - Payment of Application Fees
After successfully uploading the scanned documents, candidates need to pay the application fee.

Step 5 – Printout of Acknowledgement Page
The final step of filling the form is downloading filled application form/acknowledgement page. Candidates have to print 4 copies of their acknowledgment page along with fee receipt. They must keep the acknowledgment page safely for future use.
Candidates need to click on the “Application Form Progress” feature on the left corner of the application window. Using this feature, the candidates can check the following:
The candidates can partly fill and save the form and can complete the form later. It is not compulsory to fill the form in one go.
Candidates must keep the following documents ready before they start with the registration process:

NTA will open an application form correction window for candidates to edit or make changes in the application form if necessary. Candidates who filled any incorrect information can correct the details in this period.
Changes can be made in this period only. No request to edit any details will be entertained further.
