JEE MAIN 2019 NEWS
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
Ashwin Kumar got admission into NIT Warangal with a score of 210 out of 360. He focused on previous years papers and most importantly NCERT books .
Here are some questionnaires with him which will surely provide you some help in preparing for JEE Main.
Ans- From the inception of online pattern in 2014, JEE was very easy for online and for offline mode it is tough. However, the opposite happened in 2015. I would say to go for Offline/Online depends your mode of preparation & obviously interest.
However, in case of offline mode you may feel more like your Board exams or so. There is no problem of availability of rough paper in online mode. Instead of that if you have more rough space as compared to offline mode. Some cities do not have offline centres. So you may find it uncomfortable for going to other city.
Keep in mind, during your exams, starting from JEE Main, BITSAT, JEE Advanced, State entrance etc, it is a period when you need to perform at your peak. So please decide accordingly whether to travel or not.
Ans- Yes, I had qualified for JEE Advanced.
Ques- Would you like to signify the essence of coaching classes with respect to your preparation strategies for the entrance?
Ans- I had taken coaching classes for preparation. I just want to rate their efforts on low level.
|Role of coaching classes||Low|
|NCERT Text books||Excellent|
|Study material of coaching classes||Low|
|Online study material||Low|
|Subject wise classes of coaching institutes||Moderate|
|Importance of Self study||Excellent (Mandatory)|
Ans- I did correspondence test Series for JEE. For JEE Main, coaching is not required at all. Focus only on previous year’s papers and most importantly on NCERT books.
You should also see through the course of JEE Main as it is much more than IITJEE. They add a few topics like measurements in Physics, which are completely theoretical and you do not want to lose number in them.
Further as per my experience, maths*(83) was just fine. I lost in Physics (79) and Chemistry (58) because of difference in the course.
For IITJEE what you need the most is conceptual knowledge with a vivid thinking. However, you need to mug up a lot of facts.
Further, a factor of speed may come into play. So please work for that.
|Level of Difficulty||Percentage of Difficulty|
|Medium||25%( But you must have good knowledge to solve them)|
|Tough||25% (Related to applications)|
Ans- You need not to manage JEE Main, if you are in CBSE. The pattern and question level is same. Just keep a track of the previous year’s papers and keep solving them in a specific amount of time and also in fixed rough space.
Definitely if you are from other Board, go through NCERT very carefully and follow the pattern as followed in previous years question papers. Mug up what you need to and understand what to you need to.
All IIT aspirants please remember, not all get into IITs and in top NITs. So please prepare for JEE Main by following NCERT.
Ans- Physics: Not many I had command. However, they had many chapters apart from the logical ones in their course, and that where I lost. Like measurements and the ones in which you need to just learn the formulas.
Chemistry: Lost only because of highly knowledge based questions. Please focus on Biochemistry, Periodic table & Environmental Chemistry etc. The chapters not taught in IITJEE have a good percentage of questions in Mains. Nearly 5*4= 20 Marks. And they are damn easy ones if you have gone through NCERT.
Mathematics: I would say IITJEE main is far much advanced. However, just have a glance through previous year’s papers and NCERT. They do not have complicated calculus, coordinate geometry or probability. They have simple questions from multiple topics. You may guess from the fact that i scored very low in JEE Advanced maths whereas 83/120 in this. I did not take any specific papers for JEE Main. I had a correspondence for IITJEE. So I just went through the previous year’s paper. You can find a huge number of solved and unsolved ones in the market or online.
For preparation please do focus on NCERT and practice keeping in mind the time limit. Try solving each question in 45 seconds. Then go for 30 sec. Finally you will realize your speed is very much in accord with the exam.
Ans- Normalization system if I could. And my unexpected headache during Advanced paper. Well, I would say to focus on NCERT much more for JEE Main. Further, do not read in depth. Practice with rough space and time both in mind. Do not restrain from mugging up.
