    JEE Main 2018 Rank List is prepared on the basis of actual scores of candidates obtained in JEE Main exam. The rank list of JEE Main 2018 will reflect the All India Ranks (AIR) and Category Ranks (CR) secured by the candidates in JEE Main

    The AIR will be announced with JEE Main Result for admission to BE/BTech programs in the participating colleges. The Category Rank will be announced just for the purpose of information. The ranks will be released in the form of score card, at the time of result.

    • CBSE declares JEE Main 2018 Result along with Rank List on April 30 and May 31, 2018.
    • JEE Main rank list releases separately for Paper 1 and Paper 2.
    • Candidates should note that JEE Main 2018 Rank List will be declared online only for candidates who will appear in the JEE Main 2018. 
    • In order to check JEE Main 2018 Result, candidates have to visit and enter JEE Main Roll Number and Date of Birth. 
    • The rank card will also hold the marks obtained, AIRs and CRs. 
    • They will also get to know if they are eligible for the admission process or not.

    How to Check JEE Main 2018 Rank List?

    The steps to check JEE Main rank are same as of downloading the score card. The steps are:

    • Click on the link (available at the time of result on the official website)
    • Enter JEE Main roll number and Date of Birth
    • Submit the details, Rank List will appear
    • Download it for future correspondence

    The following details have to be checked by candidates as mentioned over JEE Main 2018 rank list:

    • Candidate’s Name
    • Mother’s name
    • Father’s name
    • Category
    • Sub-category
    • Subject wise score

    JEE Main 2018 Rank List: Points to remember

    • JEE Main Rank List will be available in online mode only. No candidate will be sent the hard copy of the Rank List.
    • For preparing the rank list of JEE Main 2018, Class XII marks will not be considered for normalization. 
    • The inclusion of Class XII marks for normalisation has been scrapped from the year 2017.

    JEE Main 2018 Rank List: Inter-Se-Merit

    In case of two or more candidates securing the same scores, the following inter-se-merit rules will be used to allot ranks to candidates:

    For admission to B.E. / B.Tech

    • Candidate securing higher marks in Mathematics will be given better rank.
    • If the tie still exists, the candidate obtaining higher marks in Physics will be given higher rank.
    • In case, the tie is still prevalent, the ratio of positive and negative marks obtained by the candidate in JEE Main will be taken into consideration. Candidate with higher absolute value of the ratio will be assigned higher rank
    • After all, if the tie does not break, candidates will be given the same rank

    For admission to B.Arch. /B.Planning

    • Candidate with higher marks in Aptitude Test will be awarded better rank.
    • If the tie further exists, then the candidate having higher marks in Drawing Test will be given better rank
    • In case, the tie still exists, then the ratio of positive and negative marks will be used. Candidates with higher absolute value of the ratio will be awarded better rank
    • Even after this, if the resolution is not possible, then finally such candidates will be given the same rank.

    JEE Main 2018 Rank List: Cut off

    JEE Main 2018 cut-off will be published along with the results. The cutoff marks are the least possible marks which are compulsory to score by the aspirant in the JEE Main Paper to qualify for the counselling process.

    Cut off will depend on a lot of factors such as:

    • Marking trend, 
    • Annual intake, 
    • Difficulty Level of the exam,
    • the last year cut-off as well

    Earlier admission in following states were based on their state level examination. But with the release of the JEE 2018 admission notification, JAB said that the following states have joined JEE Main system. Read More

    JEE Main 2018 Rank List: Counselling

    Counselling and seat allotment process of JEE Main will commence tentatively in the second week of June 2018 and will be conducted by JoSAA. Candidates whose name will be in JEE Main 2018 Rank List will be eligible to participate in the counselling session. 

    Candidates will be invited for JEE Main 2018 counselling on the basis of their ranks in the JEE Main rank list. The applicants will be required to register themselves online and select their preferred college and course. 

    Allocation of seats will be done online based on the applicant’s rank in the Rank list and availability of seats. JoSAA will be conducting counselling and seat allotment process tentatively in 6 rounds.
