JEE Main 2017 Result will be declared on April 27, 2017, on the official website- www.jeemain.nic.in. Note that Paper 2 result will be out on May 27, 2017. To check your result, enter Roll number and Date of Birth.
This year, over 10.2 lakh applicants appeared for JEE Main exam. As per the official notification, the result will comprise score obtained in the exam and top 2,20,000 names will be announced who will qualify to appear in JEE Advanced 2017. This year JEE Main was conducted on April 2, April 8 and April 9, 2017.
After the declaration of JEE Main Result 2017, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of normalized scores of the candidates. Normalization of marks will eliminate the role of class 12 marks from this year onwards as per CBSE’s declaration.
JEE Main Result 2017 will be declared online on the official website tomorrow, i.e., April 27, 2017. Those who appeared for the exam will have to visit the official website. Candidates can perform the steps given below to access their scores and obtain their result:

JEE Main Rank Card will be prepared on the basis of score obtained in JEE Main Result 2017. The rank will be calculated based on normalized marks. As per the guidelines released by conducting body, CBSE, class 12 result will not be taken into consideration for normalization process. JEE Main 2017 Rank Card will be declared in the last week of June 2017. Earlier, JEE Main Rank was calculated by considering weightage of both JEE Main Score and class 12 score. 60% weightage to JEE Main score and 40% weightage was given to normalized 10+2 score.
Normalization is calculated with the number of candidates in the group with aggregate marks less than the candidate divided by the total number of candidates and multiplied by 100. Here, students from CBSE board are at a loss, and state board, and ICSE board have an advantage.
Joint Admission Board is expected to increase the cut off this year as compared to previous years, reason being, exclusion of class 12 marks weightage. Therefore, it is necessary for candidates to secure better marks in the exam to qualify to the cut off marks. JEE Main 2017 Cut Off will be decided, keeping in mind the following factors:
It is expected that this year, cut off can fall somewhere between 110 to 120 for general category.
JEE Main 2017 Counselling is conducted by JoSAA and CSAB. JEE Main counselling will begin after the results are announced, the expected date of counselling is in June, 2017. To appear for counselling, candidates will have to complete the registration process by visiting the official website of the conducting body- JoSAA or CSAB.
JoSAA Counselling is conducted for admission to 93 IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs including ISM Dhanbad. Candidates can apply for around 631 courses through JoSAA. Candidates with atleast 75% aggregate marks in Class XII are eligible to apply for JoSAA.
